Hi, I will be taking my Nclex pn soon. I have saunders and kaplan. Can anyone that has taken their test give me and advice on how to study. If you have any helpful links can you send them to me please. thanks inadvance.#future nurse

you & i both, i too will be taking my nclex Pn pretty soon too, but have no idea on how or what to study? by the way where are you located?

Specializes in Critical Care, Med-Surg, Psych, Geri, LTC, Tele,.

Try to do 3000 practice nclex questions.

I used Kaplan qbank, Saunders by sylvestri and 2 apps: upward mobility and nclex mastery, which cost $30 total.

I googled concepts I didn't know and youtubed, as well. I used a website called dosage help and made flash cards.

I think I passed but don't know yet because my state doesn't participate in quick results. I got the good pop up and had only 85 questions, so I think, I hope, I did!

Thanks! I'm located in Texas. I'm so nervous on what to study

I only used lippincott

Specializes in LTC.

I'm scheduled to take NCLEX PN on Jan 25th.

I feel like I am generally ok on content but need to work more on strategy. So right now I'm reading the Kaplan PN strategies book. I am also doing Kaplan Qbank questions. In addition, I am using the the Lippincott Alternate format book to practice SATA type questions.

I did a 6 week study course. I read the content for NF the first week and did practice questions for that then Pharm/Med Surg the 2nd week and practice questions, Maternity/Peds the 3rd week/ practice questions, and Mental Health the 4th week. The 5th/6th week I did nothing but practice questions from ATI, Exam Cram, Nclex 3,000 PN, Saunders (Green Book), and Kaplan Strategies.

For the content, I used Saunders Green Book, Exam Cram, and a study guide that I found on here.

My advice to all of you is, do not try and learn everything because you wont. Do as many practice questions as possible and do the rationales. You will not remember everything that youve read. Do a lot of SATA questions. Know what the question is asking you, and take it from there. Good Luck.

I use kaplan too found it extremely helpful good

thanks everyone! is there away to get the Kaplan qbank questions without payin $129? I have already order so many books. I took the 75 assessment on Saunders, and my weakest is Maternity, so thats what I am working on today. I am reading all the pyramids, and doing the questions at the end of chapter. I plan on doing all the questions on the cd to that subject as I finish each topic. I also have a lippincott book full of nothing but q&s. i hope this helps. Im keep seeing that kaplan has the best Nclec style questions though.

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.

Not legally or officially. The only legitimate source for the Kaplan qbank is Kaplan as they own the trademark, copyright and all rights to sales & distribution. There are a few posters that found "free" sources then the site owner demanded payment for a service that was not theirs to sell. You can purchase a Kaplan review book for $30 or so from B &N or amazon or see if your local library has a copy you can borrow for free

Kaplan offers some free assessments & practice exams with the only requirement that you register with a valid email address on their website.

thanks! i have the kaplan book, I guess i will have to break down and buy the kaplan qbank
