Are you from Michigan originally or are you coming from out of state? I am from Michigan and graduated from MSU but have been living in Dallas TX for the past year. January is going to be a hard time for me to move back to MI lol but Im really excited to finally be starting school!!!

Hi! How long after applying did you receive your accepetance letter? I just applied to the school and was wondering how long it would take to hear something? I have been accepted into a Graduate Entry program in Ohio, but would like to start with the BSN program. Thanks and Congrats!

I originally applied for the May 2011 starting term. However, I was pushed to the January 2012 term which had a deadline of May 7 or 9, 2011. I had all of my classes and app materials completed and submitted by the aforementioned deadline and I received my notice via e-mail last Friday. Surprisingly, they took 70 applicants! However, I'm not sure how many applied. I know for a fact that less than 40 were accepted for the May 2011 start because that's the class term that I initially selected. I hear that a lot of applicants are coming "armed" with credentials before deadlines which is making it extremely competitive at UDM (they allow students to apply with 3 classes remaining for conditional admission). However, many applicants are finished by the time they apply, nowadays. Good luck with everything and let me know if you have any more questions!

I heard there were 432 applicants, but you have to keep in mind that some of the applicants roll over from previously applying. I am finishing up my last pre-req which is Organic Chem and hope to get the books for the program asap to try and get a jump on reading in the fall since I won't be taking a class.

Angie, yes, I'm from MI. My first degree is from Ferris State and I was looking at a couple of programs, but then it was getting too difficult to complete all the pre-reqs for every school, so my husband and I decided I needed to make a decision....even though UDM is expensive, I like the placement rate, plus there are many options for paying off a student loan once you graduate.

If you would like to email me so maybe we can touch base before the program here is my email address quider24@hotmail.com

    Congrats on getting accepted!!

    Hi Everyone -

I applied on July 11 for the SDO at UDM. Received my transcript evaluation today, I need two courses... sent the adviser my plan for completing them, and now I'm just waiting. What I want to know is, those of you who had pre-reqs to complete and were accepted "pending completion" of them, did you find out if you got in before you registered to take those courses?

Also, do they even send you an acceptance pending completion of those courses?

    Thanks!

Ok, thank you! How long did it take before you received your acceptance? I've been back and forth with the adviser regarding classes and my evaluation (poor woman is probably so sick of me! ) but the only thing I have received in the mail is the first letter about completing my admission file. She okayed my my "plan" for completion but will I get a formal letter of admission if I get in? Is there a chance still that I could be denied admission?

I'm not sure how this works...

Call UDM and ask. They would know the answer to that.

How long did it take before I received my acceptance? When I applied I had 4 pre-reqs to complete. Once I completed 3 of those 4, I was accepted for the next cohort (Jan 2012).

You will receive a formal acceptance letter if you are admitted. If the current cohort fills up and you did not get accepted to it, she will bump your file to the next cohort. You need some many pre-reqs completed before you can be evaulated for admission, I think it is 4 pre-reqs.

Is there still a chance you can be denied admission? I think anyone can be denied admission at any time, IMO. But I don't think UDM will deny admission until you have completed all the pre-reqs. I would imagine your GPA has to be real low to be denied...like 3.0 or something.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks, I was hoping to get into the Jan 2012 cohort as well, I have one pre-req that wasn't offered at Wayne State (where I received my bachelors) the health ethics, but I was able to find somewhere to take it this fall and the adviser told me if it was to be completed by January I can be considered... so I guess we'll see now.

    Thanks for all your help!

FYI, I took my healthcare ethics out of state. Good luck.
