Congradulations!!! I am 49 and have just graduated myself. I cannot imagine what made me wait so long to attain my lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. I have just switched over from med-surg to OB and plan on working at least 20 more years and attaining my BSN and Masters in the meantime. Good luck to you.
    That's great!

I don't think so. I worked with a 2 seventy year old. They got around better than the 20's, 30's & 40's. I think their values system keep them going, As the young people says, "I'm ain't mad at them".

Good Luck Treasure 30, It is a good idea to get your BSN and MSN. I wish I had, I started nusing in 1988, I have an ADN and wish I had more, so I could teach now.
I am 57 and going to be 58 in february. I still do clinical nursing in a hospital and it is tiring. Doing 12 hr. shifts are hard at this age and steady 7pm-7am.:spin:

wow...hats off to all of you who are still working at the bedside.
the nurses need your experience and expertise.

my dad was recently in the hospital.
there were very few experienced older nurses and I do think that was reflected in the care.
