Yes but I would have done it sooner instead of getting licensed at 30 I could have been licensed at 22..... I enjoy my job and wish I would have had it sooner. Along with the security and income for my family.

I agree. Could have saved myself $80K in student loans for a master's degree that I'm not using. I also think that at a younger age, I would have had more energy and tolerance for the BS that I'm having trouble dealing with @ 31.

A thousand time YES! ! ! But many years earlier.

When I was in college (66 - 70), they did not admit men to nursing schools, at least in Oregon.

Absolutely yes. From day 1 of nursing school to working as an RN and just completing my first year at it... absolutely yes.

Why not just pursue a nursing specialty? Do you have your BSN?

Nope. Would have chosen pre-med and ROTC and been a pursued an MD degree in emergency medicine. As they say tho; hindsight is 20/20. I'm an RN now, and enjoy the job.

I should have listened to an Nurse Corps officer in 1990. She told m I should look at NS. Of course I was too stubborn to accept her advice.

Absolutely!!! I have been a RN for going on 17yrs now and still love every minute of it; still look forward to going to work every day and making a difference in someones life.

I would never trade my career and profession for anything.
