Hello everyone! I may be a little early with this, but here's a new post for all of you hoping to apply this September 2nd for the Spring 2015 semester at UMSON. You can post questions you have, helpful advice you would like to give (if you're already in the program), etc.

I specifically have a question for those who have already applied to the Spring 2014 semester and got in. When you applied last September, when in November did you get your acceptance letter in the mail? Was it the beginning, middle, or toward the end of November? I'm asking this because the other nursing school I am applying to only gives a 3-week time period after the end of October (when they let you know if you made it in or not) to accept or decline enrollment. So, if I don't make it into UMSON, I'd want to be able to give this other nursing school an answer before the 3-week time period runs out.

afowler77 have you called Brook's office? I called not long after I sent in my deposit and they were able to tell me that they got it. Also, they probably have your TU student information already, if it has gone through. I'd check in and see what's up!

Good idea! Thanks!

I am trying to limit myself to only checking SURFS hourly! It is getting to be a real struggle.

I work 3-11 tonight and will be able to check only ONCE during that time! Ack!

Well, at least nothing's likely to change after 5:00, so you won't miss too much.

We can do it guys, the struggle is real! Haha! I'm so excited to read everyone's acceptance posts!!! The ones we've gotten already really put me in a good mood, as I assume it has for everyone else! :D

I agree, it makes me hopeful for the rest of us!

Yeah, I'll take my break around 7, so I know there won't be any changes after that.

Zem414,

Congrats! Do you mind sharing your admissions criteria? I'm anxiously awaiting my decision and would like to compare where I am versus the already accepted students.

Thanks!

Congratulations on everyone who has heard back already!! :) I cannot WAIT to hear back! It is so hard for me not to keep checking because I work in front of a computer.. I hope we all hear back soon!

Thank you! I did not think I would get in, but this is what I applied with:

Undergrad GPA: 3.359 ( Bachelors of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology)

Prerequisite GPA: Not sure but mostly A's and B's

Experience: Working as a newborn hearing screening technician for two years at a local hospital,

Volunteer EMT for two years

TEAS score: 82% individual adjusted score, scores for each section ranged from 73% to 93 %

Goodluck everyone! I am sure you will be hearing soon! :)

zem414 did you work as a newborn screening technician while working as a volunteer EMT? How was your experience with both?
