UMSON Spring 2015

Hello everyone! I may be a little early with this, but here's a new post for all of you hoping to apply this September 2nd for the Spring 2015 semester at UMSON. You can post questions you have, helpful advice you would like to give (if you're already in the program), etc.

I specifically have a question for those who have already applied to the Spring 2014 semester and got in. When you applied last September, when in November did you get your acceptance letter in the mail? Was it the beginning, middle, or toward the end of November? I'm asking this because the other nursing school I am applying to only gives a 3-week time period after the end of October (when they let you know if you made it in or not) to accept or decline enrollment. So, if I don't make it into UMSON, I'd want to be able to give this other nursing school an answer before the 3-week time period runs out.

Hi everyone! This is my first time posting, but I have been following this thread daily (more like hourly - lol) and poring over the site for any info relating to UMSON. It has been such a help to read your thoughts, stats, etc. My status online (SURFS) has NOT changed (hmmm), however, I did receive a call this morning from UMSON telling me that I was accepted to the Baltimore campus for Spring 2015. I am cautiously excited (I need to see my status change to really accept that it is real).

Because it has been so helpful to me to read others' stats, I'm sharing mine. I am a second Bachelor's applicant. My overall GPA is a 3.0, due primarily to grades from my first degree (EE) during which I had one really bad semester. Since then my grades have been straight-As, so my prerequisite GPA is 4.0 and my science GPA is 4.0. My TEAS score was 98.7% (details below). I don't have any healthcare experience.

TEAS Adjusted Individual Total Score: 98.7%

TEAS Reading: 97.6%

TEAS Math: 96.7%

TEAS Science 100%

TEAS English: 100%

Um, I guess that's it. I was also accepted to Towson and just turned in my $200 deposit to them yesterday (hmpf!).

I hope everyone waiting hears back from UM soon. I know the wait can be agonizing. Good luck guys!

its interesting that this year they're calling people first. It seems like in previous cycles, the online status changed first.

I have been checking non-stop and still no change, but I'm not going to sweat it... for now! Haha! Let's hope for good news tomorrow!

Thank you so much guys! I wouldn't have been able to be so calm through out this process with out all of you! I don't even know what to do right now haha. I have always wanted to go to UMSON and went to an open house 2 years ago! Wayyy before I was done with my pre reqs! This is so unbelievable. I cannot wait to start this next chapter and meet everyone. I am going to Baltimore campus.
