Hello everyone! I may be a little early with this, but here's a new post for all of you hoping to apply this September 2nd for the Spring 2015 semester at UMSON. You can post questions you have, helpful advice you would like to give (if you're already in the program), etc.

I specifically have a question for those who have already applied to the Spring 2014 semester and got in. When you applied last September, when in November did you get your acceptance letter in the mail? Was it the beginning, middle, or toward the end of November? I'm asking this because the other nursing school I am applying to only gives a 3-week time period after the end of October (when they let you know if you made it in or not) to accept or decline enrollment. So, if I don't make it into UMSON, I'd want to be able to give this other nursing school an answer before the 3-week time period runs out.

littlemango- Yeah, scanning! I had to email the scanned copy of my CPR card! And of course the immunization records, results of my titers, etc... I saved most of it, in case I get accepted need to submit in the future. We can definitely go together!

@katiep_123 i honestly haven't started my search for an apartment. I'm not really picky i just want a place that is close, safe and with a reasonable price. If i do happen to like Fayette square would you like to be my roomie ( again, if we get accepted) ahaha

I heard Fayette Square was a nice place, katiep_123! Also, from the photos, very nice! :geek:

The wait is going well, hopeful 2015! Can you guys believe it's already the end of October? How the month has flown by is beyond me! But I'm grateful for this haha. We're getting close!

Yeah thanks for the reminder about the CPR guys! afowler77, if we make it in, let's go sometime in December! Haha! :)

Oh! Also, has anyone checked out UMSON's Flickr account? I love visiting it! The most recent album is of the White Coat Ceremony which just happened for the incoming Baltimore students. Shady Grove's is this week or next week. How exciting! Maybe if we all get in we'll be in our own! :D

Here's the link to the album!

My friend actually lives in the Historic Building of Fayette Square. The 4 person apartment is nice and the bedrooms are a really nice size! @deavilaxoxo I think it's a great idea! It think it'd be awesome to know some one already!

Nov. 21st is also my birthday!! :D Haha. Neat-o.

Thanks so much! I was going to ask about this! :D

Consider Catonsville if you want safe, close, and affordable!

I second [COLOR=#003366]afowler77. I live about 5 miles from Catonsville, closer towards the city. Catonsville is affordable, safe, close, very pretty and the people that live there are pretty awesome!

I unfortunately won't be having my car at Baltimore so the closer the better! But thanks for the input in Catonsville!

Does anyone know how long the vaccines are good for? Could I get them this semester and if I don't get in, use that paper work for next fall? Will it be valid?

It depends on what vaccination. Tetorifice are good for 7-10 years, Flu vaccine is good for one year, PPD (not really a vaccination) they would want a new one/two each year. Things like MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) you get when you are 12 months. You will have to have your titers done (blood work) to express concentration in your blood.

There are others I am not listing, but I am just trying to show you how it is not so black and white!!!!!

Good Luck!!!!

I cannot edit my post and I posted in haste at work. For the poster who was asking about the vacinaations........MMR you begin a series at age 12 months. PPD they want one or two done in the same year for the application year. You would not have to keep getting them!!
