what is a clinical margin? that's a lot of points to be dropped from the lbcc program.

did you reapply or seeking other rn programs in our area? if so, what colleges have you applied to.

My tuition is going to cost around 12,000 for 1 year, full-time. It includes the cost of books & scrubs, and I'm not sure what else.

I don't think my school is going to accept much financial aid (I probably wouldn't qualify anyways), so most of the tuition will be paid out of pocket (they want roughly 1500-2000 down) then the rest will be in a loan of some sort (hoping I don't have to go to a private lendor for one!!)

The school is called American Medical Institute and they are located in Houston, TX.

Technically, student loans are considered a form of "financial aid" because they are so much better than going and getting a private loan. I didn't think I'd get financial aid either, but I have half my tuition paid by it!! It all depends on your situation. For example, I'm not poor or low income but I'm married and I have two kids (independent student). If you still live at home or are under 24 and you are not married/have no kids, then they look at you as though your parents should be paying for your college. That sucks when they have no intention too :(! That was me until I became an independent student. I still have to take out loans for the other half, but I'm filling out a few nursing scholarships to help ease that burden... Look into some. There are so many here in PA because we have a nursing shortage.

Good luck!!

May I make a recommendation. For students in California, you should try and go to either an ROP program or Adult School. I did my LVN out of High School and only paid $3,000 total which included: books, uniforms, equipment, and even a pair of shoes. (lol) Save the big loans for RN school because they are ridiculously expensive. I know that in a private school there is more flexibility with the schedule but it doesn't hurt to look at a different alternative which could save you thousands of dollars if you make it in the program. i was accepted to a community college lpn program which was points based, so there is no waiting list. you are offered acceptance based on your act test score and gpa, which i love because my gpa and test scores are great.

i was accepted for my first application. my program will cost 3,876.
