Okay all of you, how is school going? AM in sixth week and have had 9 written tests, 1 pop quiz, and checked off on BP, blood/glucose, sterile gloves, and about to be checked off on bed bath. How about the rest of you, are you all moving this fast or faster than this? Do you think it is extremely hard or pretty easy??

I am in my third week. We are just now getting ready to get down to business. The first 3 weeks were "core" and it was really laid back and self paced. The CNA's were exempt from this portion. Today was the first day the class was together as a whole and we started nursing I. For the first three weeks I got good grades on all the tests but the last one we had to take was tough.

Im not sure what to expect so Im going with the flow for now. We are getting ready to do vitals and that kind of thing now though. Lots of reading and tests too.

What are your programs like? Mine reminds me of highschool simply because of the catiness and cliques! lol...I like the friends Ive made at school but there is already a division among the class. Why cant we all just get along like adults? instead of getting in groups and talking about each other! lol...

Anyway Id like to hear more from u guys. Im looking forward to our first clinicals in a few weeks.

I am happy to say that we don't really have any groups or anyone trying to stab the others in the back. We have a few that think they know it all but they are nice too if you can believe that. We are doing about 3 or 4 chapters a week in our nursing book, plus clinical stuff too. Supposed to get our uniforms this coming week, and will finally get to go to hospital. Don't know for sure if I'm looking foward to that or not (butterflies). Our instructors have been really great so far, hope that continues, but you hear rumors all the time. Good luck w/your class.

Well I just finished my 4th week. Gosh I can't believe it's been 4 weeks already. We finished A&P this week. It was a killer. Tests almost everyday. We had A&P in the afternoon and vocational relations in the morning then when Vocational relations ended we started NPP1 (Nursing Practices and Principles). Thats all the clinical lab stuff. We start our check offs next Friday. On everything. Bedbaths, gate belts, oral care, ROM etc. I am very nervous. Anyway we still have 3 tests next week for A&P. We have had several quizzes and did a diagram of the heart. Also 4 quizzes on medical terminology. Whew. It has been very intense to say the least. But I made it this far so far.....I still love it. I just want to do good..

Well my first class just ended and I got an "A" :balloons: .

So I am VERY happy! My next class starts next week. I really like this program. The instructors actually want to see you succeed and are so nice! I am so glad I got a good program because I have heard some horror stories :imbar . Hope everyone else is doing well too!

I am starting on my third week in LPN school. We have 2 classes per term which is 5 weeks long. I have my midterm tomorrow on 7 chapters in A&P 1. Its not too bad but there is so much to learn and so little time. We will be doing the skeletal and muscular system this week. I really hope they don't expect us to learn every single bone and muscle in one week:eek: . The test for that is on Friday!!! :)

We are in our 6th week. We are getting ready to take our 7th exam. We have completed handwashing, bed bath, making occupied/unoccupied beds, vital signs, physical assessment and getting ready to do dressing changes, foley insertion and injection checkoffs. We start clinicals on October 18th - I cant wait!!!

Well, I started classes on Sept.1, so far I've had a total of 12 exams and I have 2 midterms today and 2 tomorrow! It's moving soooooooooo fast, but Ive learned sooooooooo much. I start clinicals on Tuesday, kind of nervous about that. Otherwise, things are fine, just trying to get used to ingesting large amounts of info, in short amounts of time.

wow you guys are doing check offs all we are doing now is A&P, MIcro , nutrition, Psy, med terms, intro to practical, and calculation of drug dosage. WE do this for 9 weeks then we move into lab and clincals. i think it like getting almost all the book classes out the way, then its mostly clincals with af ew more classes like pharm etc. I talk to the class before us, they started with 45 first term , lost 20 by the end of that term. It tough but i know i can do it. Good luck everyone

I started the program last October and only have 1 week of class and 6 weeks of senior practicum left. It does get hard but it was something that I wanted to do and put the extra time in....even if that meant moving away from my husband for 18 weeks because I go to a school in a different town.....I can't wait to be done.

OMG, I am working full-time during the day and I am in an accelerated LVN program. It's really hard but I am managing to keep a "B+" average. We have an exam every week. I am 2 months into the program and we start at our clinical sites next week. I'm a little nervous and excited at the same time.
