  1. Medical Assistants at Doctors Office

I took the first semester of a MA program. And I have to say that I am glad I did. My medical term. course was very in depth. The school that I am taking my PN courses at doesn't offer its nursing students a med. term. class but it does offer it to t...
  2. your clinical uniforms

At my school our uniforms are white. A lady came in with all sizes of uniforms and we had to try them on and then she took measurements so that the uniforms will fit properly. She also sews the school logo onto the top. :)
  3. Searching for an LVN-RN Program. HELP!!!

Forgive me if I am reading your post wrong, but are you saying an LPN has to have 10 years experience to get into any LPN to RN program? I was under the impression that any LPN could bridge to RN no matter the years of experience as long they were a...
  4. Phasing out LPN's.

Wow. In Virginia to become a CNA you have to take a multiple choice exam with about 75 questions and perform 5 skills for I guess its an RN instructor type person (I forgot the word they use for them). Plus the cost of the test is about 80 dollars.

  6. Forcing nurses to work as aides

I just finished Funds 1 in PN school. We didn't actually learn some of the things that are taught in CNA classes. For example: we didn't learn how to put a "brief" on a patient, we didn't learn how to put on those hose (ted hose?), we didn't learn ho...
  7. Annoyimg

My cookies are enabled and I visit the forums here frequently. I don't like to be logged in unless I am posting a message and then I log right back out. I don't know why, I just don't like to be logged in on websites all the time, LOL. Anyway, that ...
  8. PROS and CONS LVN vocational school

I am in Virginia too. My PN school tuition is 13,500 and its a 15 month program too. I really never gave much thought to the cost because the classes are small and that is a big plus for me. But 20,000 does seem like a bit too much.
  9. I believe that you are in my hometown!
  10. I just want to clarify that I didn't start this thread to flame or put MAs down. I am just concerned about the fact that the school is giving the wrong impression to the students by what they did to the nurse poster. I also wanted to make sure that I...
  11. My PN school also has a medical assistant program. The school has the Johnson & Johnson become a nurse posters. Well on some of the posters they covered up the nurse part and put medical assistant. So the top of the poster says Become A Medical A...
  12. What Do You Hate About Nursing School!

I hate when the majority of the class has a major problem with the instructor but when you say let's talk to the director (after approaching instructor) and see if we can get the problem fixed no one will back you up. :angryfire I hate it when instr...

  14. Question on School Accreditation

Thanks for the advice. :) The Virginia BON website says that the program is approved. I e-mailed them before I started the program to make sure that I could sit for the NCLEX-PN when I graduate from this school and they said that I could. The NLNA...
  15. Question on School Accreditation

I just did a search of my state on NLNAC website and my school wasn't listed. A lot of the practical nursing programs in my state that I am aware of are not on there. :uhoh21:
