i failed my nclex the first time and im about to take it a second time in november...i overheard some of my bf's family members talking about how i failed the NCLEX PN the first time i took it.. they commented on how miserably i failed the NCLEX PN the first time , then i would not survive taking the NCLEX RN..it was more like they were saying that i cant handle becoming an RN if becoming an LPN is "supposed" to be so simple.. i FEEL horrible about this.. how can anyone be so mean. after all i did survive thru LPN school. this just knocks down my confidence level down to a zerooo..please give me some encouragement. it keeps on playing in my like a broken record .. i duno what to do anymore. im supposed to stay focused since im about to take the nclex again and study hard.but this is really hitting me hard.......:(

Think you need to distance yourself from the negative folks in your life! At this point, you need positive thoughts not negative ones.

That is just rude! How dare they be so negative when you are obviously going to be nervous about trying again. Do not let them get you rattled. Be positive, study effectively and do great. Have you sought some help with any of the different study programs? Much luck to you, Jules

P.S. I would think long and hard before marrying into a situation like this.

I would distance myself from them. Do not let their rude comments get to you. Try to ignore it and focus on you're studying. You finished the school and I know you can do it.

That had to hurt. I'm really sorry you had to hear it. Now you just have extra incentive to prove them wrong.

Keep on trying. I know it is especially difficult to block out the hideous comments that are made by the very people we believe are supposed to support us. I have faith that you will pass NCLEX. :)

I too my NCLEX the 1st time on 03/21/06 and failed it. here in Texas we have to wait atleast 45 days to take again and pay another $300. For the negative comments you got, was not nice and if i were you i would not talk to any of them until you take your NCLEX again and pass. Anyways as soon as i found out that I failed the 1st time, i went to a book store and bought better material to study. The saunders NCLEX-PN book with CD that has over 3000 questions and answers, cost me $35. The cards that I bought the first time, well as you know didnt help me. I took my test again in 06/2006, i found out that i passed by calling the TX BNE and the lady was nice enough to tell me that I passed. If i can pass the NCLEX the 2nd time, then anybod ycan pass it. Im not that smart of a person, I have trouble taken test, but saunders has ways to teach you how to take the NCLEX. When i sat down at that computer the 2nd time, I told the computer that I am boss this time and I will pass, after my 86 question, the PC shut off on me. Just ignore that bad comments and soak in the good ones. I know you can do it, If you passed LVN school, the nyou can pass the NCLEX.

First of all forgive them because this is true ignorance. Second of all get in your own circle of positive and supportive friends and family. Third of all if you are serious about becoming an LPN, give it to God. I did not pass my boards the first time and I was devistated. The second time I took it I fasted for 3 days for the L the P and the N. I did not talk to anyone that was negative or anyone that was doubty. All I wanted to hear was "You can do It!"

I did not even change my study material that much because I knew that this was something that God had to give me. When you apply again, Study but also pray when you get up and when you lay down. Then apply and dont tell nobody when you take it. It should be up to you and the Lord!

GOOD LUCK, PRAY, FAST AND LET US KNOW HOW HAPPY YOU ARE FOR PASSING. YOU ARE AN LPN IN JESUS NAME!!!!!!!!!!

UGHHH!! Why do in-laws (or in your case, your BF's family) have to be so damned RUDE when it comes to our nursing careers? I know how you feel. My mother in-law makes it seem like I'm not a real nurse because I'm an LVN. I plan on doing my RN one day, that's always been my initial goal. But where I come from, you have you have your LVN done before getting in the RN program. It makes me angry how she tries to make me feel low...

I've failed my NCLEX before. Don't worry. You're not alone. You obviously have what it takes to be a nurse, you passed the program. The NCLEX is silly to me. Alas, it's something that we have to take in order for us to be licensed. You will pass. I did. You will too. Congrats and Good luck.

eFFF the haters! Tell them to suck your middle finger until they choke. JK.

Do it for yourself, not them. If you keep them in mind when you are studying or for the exam, then, you may get nervous. Like the other person stated, think deeply about marrying into this family. If they are not supportive during this devastating time, what about worse problems?
