pre-licensure rate

It says in the packet 4 that we need to present a copy of the updated notarized job offer from our US employers on the day of our interview at the embassy. As tackeled in another thread here, failure to submit this updated job offer on the day of the interview can be cause of delay for the release of the Visa. The updated job offer is supposed to state your pre and post licensure rate(salary). When I recieved the updated job offer I'm supposed to present at the embassy it stated there that I am to recieve $10/hr and work as a Nursing Aide until the endorsement of my license to NJ. This came as quite a shock:confused: since the original job offer I signed did not state a pre licensure rate.

To those who have recieved their pre and post licensure rates, how much are your pre licensure rate?(since it has been mentioned alot).Just so I (and probably others) can have an idea if their pre licensure rate is within the normal/acceptable range.

Where in MN are you going to? That rate is extremely low.........are you working in a hospital or LTC?

Hi suzanne4!

Yap it's very low, but don't have a choice. Most of the agencies here offers that kind of rate. It will increase when I passed the nclex as what they said, I knew somebody who's rate increased when he passed the nclex with the same agency. I will going to Roseville, MN and it is a nursing home only.

That's the problem here, they offer nurses with that kind of rate. As what my friend told me that when you are there already most of us feel envy for those who earned a lot but don't have choice since you have your contract to finish. Ssniff...ssnniff...:bluecry1:

Sorry, but you do not have to accept treatment like that. It is not accpetable for anyone to treat anyone like that.

To get paid as a CNA for months, when you are an RN is not a good thing.

But you have signed the contract, so you will have to deal with it.

For others of you out there, do not agree to anything like this.............

Hi Suzanne4!

My petition was filed by the US hospital on April 2006 with my CGFNS/IELTS/VIASCREEN only ; last August 2006, I passed my NCLEX. Does my agency need to provide me a PRE and POST NCLEX rate for the embassy interview? Hope to hear from you soon...and thanks in advance.....;)

Since you are an NLCEX passer then you all you have to present is the rate of a US licensed nurse offered by your agency.

Is $25 per hour in california good enough? If not, does someone know the starting NCLEX passer rate? Thanks...

Where in California? Depends on the area, but I've mostly read about salaries starting at around $30/hr for LA and San Fran.

Usually pay rates in northern California, where SF is, are much higher than southern California, where LA is. The rate would go from $35 to $37/hour for dayshifts. This rate is for RN.
