US demand for Filipino nurses declining - educator
yah, there are lots of filipinos here who didn't finish their contract for some reasons ( others have good reasons but others have not ) and we can't blame this hospitals not to hire filipino nurses anymore because it's not a joke to petition 1 nurse it is very costly for them according to my employer they paid $8,000 or more for 1 nurse only how about if they have families... But I am wondering why they can do this, wherein during our embassy interview we have to sign a waiver i guess, that we need to proceed and work to the agency or hospital who petitined us if not we can be deported...

My agency wants me to review first my nclex so that when I arrived there I will get nlang the exam. Most probably our departure will be next year either jan or feb. So, how about you? whats your plan? Why is it that you don't have a departure yet? I think vgsrn has already her departure date because she has an nclex already.

pre-licensure rate
Hi suzanne4! Yap it's very low, but don't have a choice. Most of the agencies here offers that kind of rate. It will increase when I passed the nclex as what they said, I knew somebody who's rate increased when he passed the nclex with the same agency. I will going to Roseville, MN and it is a nursing home only. That's the problem here, they offer nurses with that kind of rate. As what my friend told me that when you are there already most of us feel envy for those who earned a lot but don't have choice since you have your contract to finish. Ssniff...ssnniff...

pre-licensure rate
vgsrn, Good for you you have already your nclex... so there is no problem with you already you will just wait for your visa. Once, your already in the states you can get na your SSN as well as your RN liscense. Most probably if we don't have any problem in our papers during our interview our visa will takes only a few days... What do you think, am I correct? Im quite upset waiting for the visa, hope that next week we will have our visa... By the way, I will be going to Minnesota. Just continue posting esp if you have your visa. Let's continue praying... I knew God is good and trust in Him... Goodluck and God bless to all of us...

pre-licensure rate
Hi vgsrn! It's quite frustrating with that kind of rate you have. The consul are strict already regarding the rate of nurse. Just want to share mine. By the way I just finished my interview, about the preand post nclex rate. In my case, i don't have an nclex yet. It was stated in my contract that prior to being liscensed and after i will receive $20.24 per hr . The prevailing wage will be subject to adjustment in accordance to wage adjustment process or change in job duties. And until I passes the nclex exam it will be an extended orientation duties as a registered nurse. Goodluck in your interview and God bless...

I didn't write PNA for my prepared DS230 but they didn't ask for it. I think the reason was , my DS230 was recent that was last May lang. For nurses i think they are not strict as long as your documents are complete and without questions (documents from your employer as well). The consul didn't even bother us to swear in DS230 part II. He only ask basic questions, don't need to worry. Just prepare yourself, read all you have written in your DS230 and in your contract. They're particular in your nclex whether you get it here or in the state, if in the state see to it that you must have a rate prior to being liscensed and after liscensed. For me he asked me 2 questions only, my name and if i will take my nclex in the states. I don't have medical questions but incase prepare for it bcoz there are some who asks for it. My tips for you: prepare your extra picture specified by the US embassy coz if you have your pictures there it cost you a lot that is Php180 and your picture is not good (pangit). You must be there 1 hour before your appointment, you dont need to go there very early (if you don't want yourself to stand while waiting or spare a money to rent a seat @ 30 psos) bcoz the guard prioritized according to time of appoinment. Also zerox all your important documents esp. your visa screen and updated contract (notarized) so that they will return your original form. In addition prepare your: cg cert, english exam, NBI (recent), resume, NSO birth cert, ds230 I&II, valid ID's, diploma, pictures if your married (wedding pict as well), OTR. Secure a new NBI clearance for sure nalang because for others that was the cause of delayed in their visa issuance. Here's our interview procedure: 1. At first you take a line for Immigrants. The guard will tell you where to enter (Gate 2 I think for Immigrant, fiance &K1 visa) 2. Then, upon entering the immigrants section you must proceed to a counter in your right side to get your number and a form (agreement to proceed in your employer upon entering USA). 3. Finger scanning at Window 17 (Wait for your name to be called). 4. Wait your number to flashed for Pre-screening at windows 21 to 26 I think. Prepare your zerox and documents esp visa screen and notarized contract. A filipino will ask you some questions. Don't need to worry basic question only. 5. Wait again for your number for a consul interview at windows 28 to 32. 6. After that wait again (Windows 37 I forgot the other one) for your pink slip to pay to delbros and your original documents to be released. That's all... You can make it Titanium... Just pray... Goodluck and God bless in you interview...

Hi titanium! I just post because were busy of our medical and interview since last week. Last sept 5 we had our interview and thanks to GOD, everything was fine. Hope so... coz we paid delbros forour visa delivery. About your question, we have the same problem before. I had also put PNA in my DS230 (packet 3). So, I just prepare the DS230 updated but during the interview they didn't ask me about that one. So, I think there's nothing to worry about that. Incase just prepare for a new one DS230 for updating.

Hello esterp! Try to ask if you have already your appoinment thru email, because in my case when I called the NVC its the same response I had since my case was completed last June 28. Thus, I tried the email system just like titanium and I got the sched. For sure you have already your sched. Goodluck and Gob bless...
