Hi, that's what I would like to know, exactly, but I thinkYou can take a few mounths before you pay and reg. for Pearsn-Vue and than it takes also a few months until you get your ATT.I wich I knew it, someone who knows, please.

Hi My question to you is once the eligibility by board of nursing which in my case is NYS is recieved, how much time does one have to register for the NCLEX with pearson.. or what is the procedure after the eligibility process is completed.. i would like to know as right now i am waiting for eligibility, my CVS is done.

Once NY complete the procedure you will receive a letter from them saying you are approved it should say on there if there is a time limit to register. Once you get letter you register with Pearsonvue and make arrangements to sit the exam and pay any fees. It tells you on their site if International nurse to wait for letter before registering with Pearsonvue

Hi, thank you for your reply. When you say certification, you mean my diploma in original lanq., right? One more question, please: Is ther anything else that I need to submitt(fee, child abuse course, diploma and....?)? there is smth. about infection control coursework...Do you know anything about it? Thankk you so much

I think the certificates the poster is talking about is the child abuse course and Infection control.

You are given 90 days from the time you are granted the eligibility letter. You may want to double check on their website if this has changed or remained the same and the current time-frame to register is usually indicated on the letter as well.

Hi Jadranka

I will give you the website address for getting the information you requested. http://www.op.nysed.gov/nursing.htm It is mandatory to do the child abuse course, becoz when i submitted my forms i got a letter from them asking me to complete that. Also all information about the certificates required from your country etc is all listed in their forms,and CGFNS will verify your education then it will come to NYS. As far as infection control is concerned they haven't specifically asked for that right now from me but I think that too is mandatory only I think it is after you get your registration ,that is, pass NCLEX then .. but please confirm this through someone else as i am not sure about infection control course, whatever has been asked of me from the NYS dept of ed i told you..how are you preparing as far as studying is concerned?? I am right now doing the Suzanne plan, but since i don't have the latest edition of Saunders just using the older edn but i will get the 4th edition and study from there too..are you working??

Hi, it is so nice of you to answer my questions. Thank you so much, I really need all help I can get, thanks.I did not tell you, but my situation is similar to yours. I allready went throu CGFNS-CVS procedure and got letter from them that they'v send my credentials to NY Depart. of educ. I did not apply to NY-BON yet because I did not know if I have to .I thougt I need to wait until Dep. of education say that they (credentials) are O.K. Department of Education is the one that actually evaluates our credentials, right. This is most confusing thing for me, should I wait for their O.K. or not? Suzanne4 say I need to apply to NY Bon because before that they wont do a thing.You know it cost $135 +child abuse course.I will visite the web sites you so nisely gave me,thank you. About infection control, your right, they need that after you got your license. I think you will have 90 days to complete it. And one more thing, I am also interesting in Suzanne's plan , I know firs step, the one with Saunders , but how we get to the next step? I frankly didn't start with stadying yet, I need to complette evrething whit the BON , need to know if I am going to be eligeble to take that Exam. About the Saunders new boock, if I get it I will lett you know. Thank you again.

NY will not process further until they receive your application and fee. If you check out the thread/sticky called New revised first tip for Suzanne's plan in the NCLEX forum it tells you everything you need to do and information you need to give to her in the PM once you have completed the first step. You can find the NCLEX forum under the student tab.

She responds to individual requests as long as you have completed first part and provide all relevant information as mentioned in the thread. There is no mention of groups only that she sends them out in groups ie batches. Usually twice a month she sends out the emails with the plan but a lot depends on her work

Applied for CVS: 03 March 2007
CG Issued Request for Transcript: 04 April 2007
CG received Transcript from School: 09 May 2007
Application for Licensure submitted to NY Board: 27 May 2007
CG Issued CVS report to NY Board: 09 August 2007
NY Board Issued Eligibility Letter: 17 September 2007
Date of NCLEX: ?????
The whole process took almost 6 months to complete.

Wow! thats good news!! I just passed my CVS last month, I heard that usually it take 8 months or more to process. I really hope that my application will be fast like yours. I have a question, my mom whose in NY is the one who passed my application and I also gave her the full authorization, how will I know or she know that CGNFS received my application? will they email her since I also read that since I gave her the full authorization she'll be the one getting all the info regarding the application Im really confused. Thanks hope you or anybody canh enlighten me on this.

hi! i already received my eligibility letter from NY BON last Sept, they only said that i can already register with pearson. there was no time frame indicated in the letter. i inquired with them thru email if there will be an expiration or time frame on my approval, since i haven't registered yet with pearson. they replied to me saying that my approval does not expire. i plan to register with pearson by december or probably Jan.2008 because i want to be more prepare for the exam...my tentative schedule for the exam will be on March or April 2008. I think only the ATT expires within 90 days...i hope you could give some feedback on these...thanks!
