Hi Lekeita,
I did the course on the elearnonline.net website and it cost me 20 dollars and i spent about approx 3hrs at a stretch, reading the material and took the test/exam immediately after and scored 87% ...its quite a simple test and if you read the material from start to finish.. i went back and forth and might have spent a hour or three-quarters-of-a-hour extra but i found the questions pretty much straightforward and to the point, and definitely part of what you read on the course... there is a exam button at the end of the course so I think you can choose to do it whenever but just confirm that part... when are you giving the NCLEX??
please how do you take lecture online for the 3.25 contact time on child abuse online program? do you have to choose the exam date and time or they choose for you thanks
I am constantly reading this site during my application period. Because NY application is very long and tedious. I am a june 2006 passer. I passed CGFNS CP exam last march 2007. I applied for visa screen and CVS last dec.2006. I got my ielts last aug2007. I waived my Philippine license last March 2007 and took the entire Phil. Nurse LIcensure exam last June 2007. With GOD's grace I pass all the examinations. My CVS requirements were completed last Feb.2007. My CVS was issued to NY Oct 29, 2007 including the information that I am a CGFNS CP Certificate Holder. I forwarded form 1 last Nov. 28, 2007 to NY BON including all the necessary requirements. I received confirmation letter from them. I contacted BON last Jan.4,2008 for my elig. They said that I am already eligible and instructed me to register with Pearson vue. Registered with Pearson vue on Jan 7, 2008 and within 48hrs I got my ATT. Sched my exam on March 2008. ATT has 3 mos expiration with NY. You have to take NCLEX within 90 days. I advise you to do a follow-up. Contact NYSED and check your eligibility status every now and then.
For my visascreen, since I revoked my license. I explained my case with CGFNS. I verified my new license number again with the professional regulations commission and asked them to attach a certificate of good standing with the new license (note: CGFNS know that I have a previous license because I took the CP). I wrote a personal letter to CGFNS and explained everything and attached my copy of my affidavit of waiver (when I revoked my 1st philippine license). After a few weeks I got certified. I'm waiting for my VisaScreen certifcate to be delivered. I'm so happy.
And I got my notice of receipt from USCIS (txas service center). at last, I have something to look forward to. Anyway, I got my petition with one of the HHC hospital in Manhattan. Just keep praying. Everything will come in GOD's time.
Thanks for the update! I love this site.

For JUNE 2006 PASSERS
Believe in your dreams. NY BON will approve your CVS in a reasonable time as long as your education credentials is sufficient enough. Your license has nothing to do with their approval. AS long as your educational requirements is sufficient, you can get an approval from them. Just do the leg work and contact them every now and then. I have clarified this issue with them (including Dr. Barbara Zittel of NY BON and Dr. Lapinski of NYSED Comparative Education). If there are no updates or annoucements in the NYSED website, there's nothing official. Keep your hopes high. Don't believe on hearsays. Official statement on rules and regulations pertaining registration and application is posted in the NYSED website no more no less.

hi! thanks for sharing your story, I passed my CVS last November 2007 and wow! your application went so fast, is it because you have your CP certificate? would it make a difference? I have friends who are also a June 2006 passer (im in batch 2007) and their application took a year or more that they decided to re apply to another state, and somehow I was also discouraged about their story, but since I really want NY to be my state I went throught it. Well I agree with you we just have to keep our hopes up. thanks!
i'm super happy to have found this site.
I applied for my CVS last april 2008. according to my status, my application is "Ready for Processing"
to pinay nurses who have already been approved by CGFNS or received their CVS certificate, may i ask how long it took to receive approval?
also, is it true that once you have been granted approval by CVS, you are already granted an ATT?
thanks much.

CVS is a service provided by CGFNS but the overall decision to whether you meet criteria is the NY BON so can not be guaranteed that you will get ATT. We have seen people posting of a wait between 6-12 months with NY BON and CVS
hi kaiskadoole,
there is no cvs certificate issued, it is an evaluation process required by the NYSED BON. in my experienced, it took 8 months before CGFNS issued my report to NYSED BON. expect 8 months or more. Usually, NYSED OP will send you a letter once they found you eligible to take and sit for the exam. NYSED will not process your application without the CVS.
always check you cgfns account so that you can see the progress of your CVS application....GOODLUCK!

BTW,
you can apply for your ATT as soon as you receive your eligibility letter from NYSED OP...

Hi,
If you are applying for the first time to CGFNS (for any service), they will provide you (or with your authorised person) a CGFNS ID number. You can register with their web site and and can verify the details of all of your pending order details. But usually they send out a Welcome Letter and ID number to your/your authorised person's address via normal post. It may take upto one month for the issuance and arrival of these letters. Just wait for a couple of weeks.
Best of Luck
Alina Mathew
