    Dear Suzanne:

I really appreciate your quick response.
I have got RN license in CA, But I'm now outside USA, in the process of I-140 petition right now.In order to get the visa screen, I need to get the license validation from the california nursing board ? How much should pay for that?

You are so informative and helpful.

    Thanks ,

    Kathy

If New Mexico has issued you an ATT lewtter already, then you do not. In the past they have used the services of CGFNS for the credentials evaluation.
Visa Screen Certificate requirements are just that you pass either CGFNS or NCLEX and the series of English exams, if you are not exempt from them.

    Good luck............

does anyone know how long it takes to get the actual certificate once it's been mailed? The guy I talked to at the CGFNS said it is sent by federal express, but I'm not sure that this is correct. I was under the impression that you had to pay extra for this service. I'm supposed to leave February 2.

straight from the website http://www.cgfns.org/sections/tools/faq/vs.shtml, CGFNS/ICHP requires evidence that RN have received a minimum number of hours of theoretical instruction and hours of clinical practice in each of the following:
    • Nursing Care of the Adult (which includes Medical and Surgical Nursing)
    • Maternal/Infant Nursing (excluding Gynecology)
    • Nursing Care of Children (Pediatrics)
    • Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing (excluding Neurology)

...gulp.. does it mean VSC applicant must be an MSN graduate? how do I cross check on the minimal clinical hours required (assuming they are differ in each state)?

they do differ from state to state and the state decides what they will accept. Check out the International forum. Where abouts did you do your training?

if you haven't done your training yet and plan to do it in the US then you should be ok with your hours.

I'm quite confused, just need a little guidance. So if I passed NCLEX. CG & IELTS already, the next step would be applying for a Visa Screen, right? Or was that already done when I applied for my CG? I'm confused because the forms to be accomplished for the CG exam & Visa Screen are quite the same. Thanks!
