Do you know of hospitals near Pasig, Marikina, and Rizal Are accepting volunteer work

Hey just like to ask fellow nurses: Do you know of hospitals around Pasig, Marikina, and Rizal areas, accepting volunteer nurses? It has been driving me crazy trying to find a job and I need something worthwile to occupy my mind!!! LOL:lol2:

Not sure what your long term goal is but none of these volunteer jobs are going to count as work experience in any other country. Only if it is actually paid time is it going to count.

volunteer work?..yeah.nothing wrong with that.

just let her do it..it is better than not doing anything.

and it seems she's not up to working to any other countries yet.

so now?..volunteer work.it does matter.

I'm glad you stated this but it doesn't really change the fact that many Pinoy nurses are forced to logging volunteer hours or paying to practice nursing in hospitals so that they do not loose the education that they have worked so hard for.

NCSBN survey from 1998 - 2000 showed that worldwide NCLEX takers who waited longer than 63 days from the end of education/training/etc to take the test posted a passing rate of only 44.6%

This volunteer or paid nursing is going to help Pinoy nurses keep the information fresh in the mind so that when they apply for nursing licensure and then take NCLEX they will have a better chance of passing.

Okay, so they work as a volunteer (which will NOT count as experience when they apply for a job), they take the NCLEX and pass, then wait five or more years for their turn to apply for a visa while still having no paid nursing position for them to gain real experience from. Have I got that correct? Why do Pinoys still think that a nursing education is the key to a wonderful life, when a HUGE number of nurses in the Philippines are unemployed there and unemployable elsewhere?

Sometimes when I really think about it, I really have no choice now, IMO most of us newly graduate nurses here in the Philippines don't have a choice anymore. We are stuck with the nursing education we once thought would give us better life but NO. And as for the volunteer work everyone is talking about, IMO its better than doing nothing, because even though we try so hard we wouldn't get accepted for a job here, and abroad (because they prefer those with work experience). So instead of sulking at home some of us, most of us rather prefer to volunteer in hospitals, not paid..:typing

not really, there are other profession here in the Philippines that has a huge number too like TEACHERS, SEAMAN,IT professionals,skilled worker like WELDERS, COOKS etc, the thing is HISTORY repeats itself way back in the early 80s and 90s nursing is the most SELL OUT course,THOUSAND of RN are un-employed but they have survived the tide, FILIPINO people are FIGHTERS and HARD workers, its better to have a DEGREE or a SKILL than NOTHING at ALL.Even though NURSING is STRUGGLE here as of the moment, were still very optimistic :redpinkhe
