can the hospital sponsor a nurse educator on H1B? i'm a nurse educator and a facility in new york has offered me sponsor me on H1B. is there such a thing? thank you!

thanks for all the reply. i'm going to UPHS as a staff nurse and not as a specialist nurse or something. i've changed my mind now. i'll just wait for my immigrant visa and phone my agency today that i'm not going ahead with the H1B. i'm quite ok here in uk for now anyway.

If you are going as a staff nurse, then do not expect that the union will approve it.

Smart decision not to try to go the H1-B route.

Educators in hospitals require a MSN in most cases, and next tquestion would be why a facility would offer a job like this to a nurse that has no experience of working in the US where we don things very differently than PI.

You can just say in this way about every profession here in the U.S. For example, my friends from Ukraine got job teaching stuff at the University. And you would wonder why university invited them if they could get Americans? Because everything in Ukraine is different from the one that is in the U.S.

What about teaching nursing at the University? Universities are exempt!

And all teachers who come here don't have an experience teaching here but they are accepted based on their experience in their country.

It seems to me that you can't really say the same about every profession. For instance, in teaching, chemistry is chemistry wherever you go in the world, physics is physics, etc., and someone from another part of the world would be able to come in and teach that subject in the US; but nursing practice and education varies greatly from country to country, and I would think it would be very difficult for someone to come in from another country where the expectations of nurses and practice of nursing was significantly different, and teach nursing here.

H1B visa requires a visa screen, must that be included with the original H1b application or can it be submitted later on?
