Can the hospital sponsor a nurse educator on H1B?
You can just say in this way about every profession here in the U.S. For example, my friends from Ukraine got job teaching stuff at the University. And you would wonder why university invited them if they could get Americans? Because everything in Ukraine is different from the one that is in the U.S. What about teaching nursing at the University? Universities are exempt! And all teachers who come here don't have an experience teaching here but they are accepted based on their experience in their country.

H1B visa
Well, then the only option is to get married! I would do that but I already am! Maybe I'll marry 2nd time?

Thanks. I do appreciate your advice. I don't want to take responsibility for something stupid. But the information that you say is too general. Bad is too general. I could say that working in Ukraine was BAD THE WORST POSSIBLE when I had to wait for my salary for half a year and it was $20 in 1997. How is that bad for you? Did anybody here actually work there or it's just want you heard?

The H1-C is bad news for nurses. Period. End of story. Is it bad because of patient ratio or something else? Well, I agree, it maybe bad. But what shall I do? I got my PA license, it's valid only 1 year. What if retrogression is not gonna lift - what's gonna happen? It means I lost so many years of my life in vein. I don't know what to do. To go home to Ukraine and wait? I spent so much money on this stuff and all in vein? And to renew they require continued education. Where would I get continued education in Ukraine? And the longer it takes - nobody will want to take me since I will not have a work experience. (working in Ukraine for less than 100 is a waist of life ((((( Anyways, does anybody know about situation in Canada? Maybe I should go to Canada?

H1-C Visas
Suzzane, I talked with you in the other forum and I know what you think of H1C visas. I looked at the website, the facility look good, what exactly is bad there? Maybe I should go and visit to have an idea what it is like? It is understaffed, right, anything else? And one more question, I read at some other thread that you said that H1B are not available any more - why is that? I was talking to some lawyer and she said that if the hospital is non-profit you can apply all year round. I have an Associate degree from Ukraine, but she said that each 3 years of work equal to a year of study so it may be equivalent to B.N.? Is that correct? It if is so, why then nurses cannot get H1B? And one more - what about studying for M.S? Then could you get H1B? What are the chances? And what is the demand? Thanks a lot.

Best bet is hire a 3rd party lawyer to consult to be able to properly weigh your options. You must give all your info with him and site your current situation and circumstances to be able to get a unbiased and accurate advice. A lawyer from an agency may be slightly biased. Could you kindly tell me where can I find such a lawyer? Do you have any contact info and how much do they charge? I live in a very small town (20000) and I don't have a car to go to some bigger city. How can I know that he's gonna tell me the truth and I can trust him? All they want is just to get you hooked so they could get money from you. And can he start the process without a hospital? He needs the hospital as well. Forgive me if I may sound ignorant, cause I am :bowingpur

Thanks a lot for your reply. I do appreciate all your time. However, I still have some questions. I'm not gonna stay here till August (in fact I'm thinking of leaving next month cause I don't have a place to stay, no job etc. nothing to do), but what I'm saying is that I could contact that recruiter from Ukraine and start the process while I'm in Ukraine or I could sign for the Recruiting Agency and wait for GC. Could you, please, tell me what is that EB3 and why you're talking about July? I'm sorry for my ignorance but I have no clue. Is that when they become available? In this case, how would I find out if they are available? I don't have any idea. Do I still need an employer to do that for me? Thanks

Thanks a lot. I'm actually on F1 visa and my OPT expires 07/09/08. What about this AOS? First, I'll need to find the employer who would be willing to do that, right? I can't file alone. I have work experience in Ukraine but here in the U.S. everything is different, I hope they would teach me. I called that list of hospitals (list of 14) and they say they don't do it anymore, I found only 2. 1 in Texas and 1 in Chicago. I'm waiting for the reply from Texas and the place seems nice (Harlingen, Texas). The one in Chicago the Nurse Recruiter left and they are not hiring till August. I don't know what to do: to go home and wait till August or sign with some hospital here who does Green Card (I found one in Delaware and one Nurse Recruitment Company too in PA - they promise to cover all expneses). I know I may need to wait for years but I don't have another choice.

Could you, please, tell me what hospital did you find? Did you take the offer? How is it there? I just passed my NCLEX and need a hospital too.

Should I postpone or just take test NCLEX-RN
Hi, thanks for reply and comfort. So, what happened to you? Did you eventually pass it? What are you gonna do? Did you graduate from US school? Did they really teach you well all that stuff like symptoms?

Should I postpone or just take test NCLEX-RN
Dear guys! I would appreciate any help especially from international nurses. I'm from Ukraine and I graduated more than 10 years ago so I almost forgot all stuff. This year I passed CGFNS with the score of 650 our of 800. I had NCLEX today and I think I failed it. It shut down at 75. The questions were mostly about symptoms and there were like 30 questions of all you can select. I had Kaplan course, I had passing results both on readiness and diagnostic tests and I scored up to 70 on Questions Trainers. HOW DID I GO DOWN SO QUICK? The questions were completely different than those at Kaplan. How can I prepare for theM? How can I memorize all the symptoms? Especially for select all that apply type of questions? SO how is that possible that I scored so high on Kaplan and I failed so miserably? What should I do? I learned almost by heart all Kaplan, did like 6000 questions. What should I do now?:bowingpur
