City Colleges of Chicago: Fall 2012

Hi!

I thought I would start a thread for those of us who have applied for the Fall 2012 Nursing Program at the City Colleges of Chicago. I have heard that they are letting people know on April 18th. Let's hope that's accurate because I'm so anxious to find out! Post here if you've heard anything at all in regards the the Nursing Program!

I Haven't heard anything yet, Im starting to get worried. I'm not sure who else we can call because I assume anyone else but Dr. Gurney will just give us the run around. If you hear otherwise let me know.

I tried taking a nap but couldn't stop checking my email and this board. Just sent Dr. Gurney an email from my ccc email account........

Maybe they are going one school at a time. Seems like theyre doing Truman first. My preference was Daley so I'm guessing I might have to wait longer

I have a friend who has applied to Truman and she still hasn't heard anything either. I've got my fingers crossed for her!

I have to start thinking about getting ready for work soon. I really don't want to go because I can't get onto allnurses there. For some reason they have it blocked on the internet. I'm going to go crazy if I can't check this post every 5 minutes to see how everyone is doing.

I guess there are really only a handful of us that are registered to even post on here. All the others are guests and we won't hear anything from them anyway.

So, to all of you that are involved in this thread, Good luck! I'm gonna get moving here. If I hear anything, good or bad, I'll post when I get home from work around 2am.

Did everyone who received a response already get it through their CCC email? I honestly don't remember if I put that email down in the application and I know a few others were talking about that before.

This is ridiculous and frustrating. My eye is freakin' twitching I'm stressing so bad.... If you call Truman they say that they take you by your overall GPA and we will find out the beginning of May. If you call Dr. Gurney she says that it only goes for the GPA for the classes that you need for the nursing program and we will find out today or tomorrow. So..... some people have already received responses, so I assume I'll find out today or tomorrow, but I have no idea what GPA they are going by, and there is a large difference between my GPA with just nursing classes and my overall GPA......... I feel like crying! :crying2:

At this point I am thinking whatever happens happens. We can't force things in life: I know that I did my best to apply to this program; however, it is beyond my control whether they admit me or not. I do feel the selection criteria is unfair and actually possibly unethical, especially if only one person is reviewing all the applications... but what can we do. this is life. on my deathbed, i don't think i'll be regretting such things as getting or not into nursing school. however, that would make me happier at the moment...
