Cheli - LOL, you have way more ambition than I do when it comes to the drive . . . I hate to drive! That's ok though - I was appreciating living in the middle of nowhere over the weekend when I got to saddle up my horse and go for a ride without any traffic or interruptions - talk about serene. Good idea on the writing - I write for fun too, maybe I'll break out the old pen & notepad in my spare time and see what comes out. Thanks! Good luck with the exercising, that is wonderful to get started - I really need to do that myself. BTW - LOVE your avatar!!!

Hey Cheerful, good to see you - I have been MIA off and on myself. Hopefully that will change now.

Hi guys, busy busy, today I start a workshop with re-training for employment and how to choose what's appropriate for me, I have been out of work for over 2 years on disability (mental health issues) and not working is not conducive to mental health EITHER! So I am going to do this 10 week thang (been too chicken to just jump into working again, the anxiety that the anxiety will be so bad they will notice and I will get more anxiety etc... can you say hamster wheel). Wish me luck, pray for me, for courage and perseverence and that I end up doing something FUN. How is that for healthier living

You guys are great, I read much but post seldom, but pray for your (and my!) success with the whole health thing!

    xo

of course you can! i have just the horse waiting for you then - not an arab, but big, beautiful, brilliant and bold! she is a 4 yr. old we have trained ourselves and we don't believe in harsh breaking (everything is done gentile and with love - kind of horse-whispery style) so her spirit is still intact. :d lol - i used to own an arabian, he was waaaaaaay too high-spirited for me. my husband loved him, but i couldn't do much with him - all he ever wanted to do was run and, once he got going, he wasn't likely to stop until he came to something that stopped him :chuckle i like to mosey too much for that type of attitude - the mare i ride most often is a 20 yr. old qh.

jess and zo - don't feel bad, the holidays are hard on everybody. zo - good luck with your new endeavor. i think we should be ok just so long as we all plan on picking up where we left off after the holidays. i gave in yesterday and ate a piece of chocolate-chip cheesecake at work - i felt so bad afterwards, but i guess that's actually positive - at least i felt guilty rather than indulging in 4 or 5 pieces. i had steamed broccoli and baked chicken-breast for supper - after that darned cheesecake, i thought i'd better find some health food.

Oh cheesecake yum! You are sooo good Sarah. I do intend to keep my promise though

Take care, and continue doing what you do.

I think we're all having pretty good attitudes around this holiday season.

Sarah, remember, cheesecake is important, too :roll No, seriously, I think it is important to indulge once in a while, just as long as the indulgence doesn't turn into a binge. If it's not something you have the opportunity to have often and it's really good, well, might as well savor it.

Jess, I know what you mean about being so busy. I would love to work out more and prepare some healthier snacks and meals. I just feel like I have way too much going on right now. But classes will be done for both of us within the week and we should have some more time to focus on ourselves.

zoe, best of luck to you with reentering the work world. This sounds like a good plan. I hope that you have a good support system where you are. Will be thinking of you. Keep us updated!

Thanks guys - I am really trying, but it is hard. Does this get easier? I seem to have my ups and downs with it - sometimes it's no problem at all and other times I really struggle to "be good". At least I am learning my limits and finally taking charge - thank goodness! I don't think I would've ever stuck with it this long without this thread for support - every time I think of binging, I remember that I will have to come "purge" myself on this thread and that really helps. Apparently I am one of those people that needs a healthy network - so thanks everybody!

Hun, if it were easy to "be good" we wouldn't have this thread! :chuckle It sounds like you are doing great, though. I think having a supportive network definitely helps. Just like they say for exercising it helps to have a buddy because neither of you want to let the other one down by bailing.

Munching on a cucumber and tomato salad for lunch. Added a bit of feta for good measure. Should have thrown some olives on, but only just thought of that now. Darn. Love my olives and feta...

Did somebody say cheesecake? I really wanted some pumpkin cheesecake around Thanksgiving (one of my holiday favs) but I didn't do it. Sarah hang in there we're all muddling through here.

Good luck Zoe. Anything you need just ask!

Pumpkin cheesecake is the best! Haven't had any this year, though. Keep bugging one of my friends to send me her recipe. It's soooo good!
