Hi,

For anyone waiting and wondering where their packet and paperwork/orders are (Army), this is for you........

I was searching AKO for documents on accession time lines and found this helpful PPT (created 2004, but update 2008).

It is targeted to Amedd recruiters whose goal is to improve physcian commissions #'s, but it explains the whole recruitment process and lets you know what happens to your packet once it gets to HSD .............

This looks like the same process we all have gone through or are currently going through........of particular interest is slides 11,12, 17 & 18.......

Good Luck,

Hey JC,

Are you able to open this (ppt) site without a CAC card/AKO account...

c.

Nope - anything in the AKO (www.us.army.mil) domain will ask for your AKO/CAC prompt.

perhaps if its opensource and just general terms with no security issues... paste of pertinent text?

O.K.,

Here are the highlights of the Recruitment Timeline for Army Amedd AC/RC accession:

Recruitment Process:Application

Recruiter conducts the appointment with the potential applicant and determines basic eligibility

Recruiter arranges a physical examination date and forwards the applicant’s CV to the respective USAREC HSD Program Manager for basic eligibility determination

Applicant passes physical and works with recruiter and personnel technician to complete application

Recruitment Process:Quality Review

Application is forwarded to USAREC HSD for review (Application Deadline, Board Ready dates)

Application is reviewed at USAREC HSD and any mistakes are annotated as “Call-Outs” to the Recruiting Field

CV, NPDB, LORs, and any other pertinent information is forwarded to consultant for review and recommendation

Errors are completed and packet is prepared for accessions board

During this period, any waivers that are needed (age, age in grade, moral waiver etc.) are sent to OTSG/ Corps CSPBO for recommendation

Recruitment Process:Selection Board

Board generally takes three days to complete IAW USAREC HSD Boards schedule

Waivers are usually sent to final approval authorities during the selection board

Results are normally published a week after board adjourns depending on waiver approval

Board results are sent via email to the HRC Branch Manager, HSD Staff, and USAREC AMEDD Recruiting Detachments

After Selection:

USAREC HSD prepares select letters for applicants and prepares applicant’s packet for HRC

HRC Career Managers receive required information to construct appointment letter, RFO, and secure OBC reservation

Once RFO is completed, HRC Career Managers notify HRC-ST Louis that RFO complete

USAREC HSD Program Manager forwards commissioning documents and additional accession documents to HRC ST. Louis to begin OMPF

USAREC HSD receives appointment and assignment orders from HRC ST. Louis and sends to applicant and recruiting detachment

AMEDD Recruiters assist their officers in making PCS arrangements (transportation, ID cards, uniforms)

Officer reports to their respective unit or OBC

USAREC HSD Program Manager accounts for the accession upon the officers initial entry to the Active Component or Army Reserve

Hope this helps!

Just from recent experience. I submitted my packet in April, Commissioned in June and got orders in November. This was during 2008.

commissioned in December...... still waiting on orders.......... HRC/St. Louis got RFO on 2/9/09............ hmm i was told 2 to 4 weeks from that date, but my BF (LTC in USAR) heard from someone waiting on transfer orders also coming from hrc in St. Louis, that the issue is waiting on senate confirmation and that nothing is getting passed.

Submitted packet in Sept '08, selected/commissioned in Jan '09, cant get another word from my recruiter...so I have no idea where I am in the continuum.

ok, so i rec'd a t/c from a CPT down there in st. louis after I had emailed regarding my orders. bottom line is: once they receive your packet.... it takes 30 to 60 days for them to process your orders. so, she said she rec'd my packet on 2/18/09 need to wait out the time from there. Although she did say I could call next week to see if they're ready in time for me to drill.

She was very helpful and gave me some hints on how to navigate around AKO and look up the career guidance topics.

so that's where its at for me. maybe, just maybe they'll be ready. if not then for April.

Hi,

I'm thinking of going to Navy as a nurse after graduating this May. It seems like it takes awhile to "get orders." Do you get paid while waiting? Or is it okay to work somewhere while you are waiting to get orders? I'm afraid that I might go broke before I can work as a Navy nurse. Someone with insight please help..?
