When do you start schoo... and what do you want done BEFORE you start?

Ok everyone... When does your fall semester begin, and what do you want to accomplish before you go back?

Our school begins on September 2nd...

AND... My one accomplishment will be to have the house SPICK and SPAN before that date. I always feel better going back knowing my house was cleaned in September...the next time it gets cleaned may be in December AFTER FINALS!!

:roll

I start my 23 month countdown ( a 23 month accelerated BSN) on Sept.2. I have begun to put food in the freezer... cooking about 4 things to freeze each Saturday... and am working on the house. I have a painting job I want to do on both our bathrooms. Tomorrow my kids will be off to school and dh gone to work and the house will be mine for the first time in months.

I have lots of projects that I'd like to do, but today I sort of talked myself into spending the day tomorrow at the beach. Here I live in HI and never make it to the beach... that's so sad! I can read through my fundamentals book at the beach as easily as at home or Starbucks!

Oh btw... I have read Echo Heron's books... very good... but they did make me feel very unready for nursing! Read very prudently! ;)

Hmmm...this is a hard one! I would like to have a clean house and pre-made dinners stock piled in the freezer. I do clean on a daily basis but it never looks clean after my 3 little tornadoes come through...ok, I know, I would like to train my family to pick up after themselves before the Semester starts (Aug 20th)!! Is that even possible to do in a week??

I start Aug. 18th. I work full time and starting nursing classes. My Hubby is full time and working part time. We are trying to get in some excercise and getting everything organized as well. Good luck to you all!

I must say though, I really can't complain about my hubby doing housework. He's usually pretty good about loading/unloading the dishwasher, tossing his dirty clothes in the hamper. The only thing he won't/can't do without prompting is laundry, which I don't mind, because laundry is one of the few chores that I actually enjoy (weird I know!)

that is another thing to add to my list, I want all of the dirty clothes in this house washed, folded, or hung, including fall and winter clothes!

I start back on Sept 2 and I don't want to do anything!! my BF does all the cooking and I just try to keep the house clean.

I do want to try to get a little more organized, something I'm not all that good at, before I go back.

Night classes here start August 19th, and online courses begin August 25th. I'm not in nursing classes yet, but... there are a ton of things I'd love to do before school begins regardless. Mostly get my house decluttered/clean (seems like a common goal there among the thread), and I'd LOVE to get this puppy housebroken, but I don't think that one's gonna happen so soon! LOL

Well, yesterday I cleaned and re-arranged my daughters' room! YAY! One HUGE chore down, several more to go! I need to go through all the clothes we have and get rid of a lot of them. My dh has gained weight the last couple of years and no longer wears a lot of his clothes. I have lost weight the last couple of months and need to get rid of my clothes. My children have grown over the last year and I need to get rid of THIER clothes. Ugh! And then organize my room, clean the bathrooms (always), try to organize my spice cabinet, clean my fridge (I just did that after last semester!)...The same thing as everyone else.

Question for all of you...what kind of dinners to you freeze ahead? And, what do you put them in? (as far as containers, I mean) I was planning on crock-potting occasionally, but sometimes you just get sick of the crockpot because everything tastes the same!! LOL! So, the frozen dinners sound like an excellent idea!

Freezing - just about anything. Lots of casseroles.

Go to google and do a search on "once a month cooking" and you'll find tons of resources about freezer cooking.

I'm also the member of a mailing list that discusses freezer-friendly recipes/topics.. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/friendly-freezer

I don't once a month cook as often as I'd like, because I don't usually have enough space in my freezer or a big enough grocery budget! LOL

I have frozen lasagna, a myriad of casseroles, cooked boneless skinless chicken breasts, thaw one of those babies out, make some rice, add some soy sauce, YUM! good for 1 person anyway! There was a thread in the Break Room forum a while back about this subject and it had some great ideas. Can't remember that it was called though, sorry...

Thanks Manna and Angelac..I am checking some sites out right now. My dh can only cook sloppy joes and spaghetti, and I hate to stick my kids with that twice a week for 17 weeks!! Besides which, I don't know if he'll even have time to cook it because he's got to pick them up those 2 nights...
