I work out about an hour every morning. With 6:00 classes I know I am going to have to change my routine....They also say that their succesful students study at least fourty hours a week. Fine. I am use to studying alot. But I just started working out a little over a month ago. They say it takes 21 days to develop a habit...working out is a good habit and I am getting addicted...feeling antsy when I skip a day for any uncontrolled reason. When do you make time to exercise?

Well working out is a commitment, so you have to figure out with your schedule when would be the best time to do it. It will probably be hard at first but as time goes by it will get easier.

I'm planning on taking a textbook to the gym and reading while on the elliptical. Hopefully that'll work out good, I'll find out soon enough!:)

I tape all my lectures and listen to them while I work out. Study plus workout in one!

I'm hoping to find a cheap elliptical or treadmill to put in the bedroom that my roommate just moved out of. That way I can do it when I feel like it. My biggest reason for now going to the gym is the drive, so this take away that excuse.

I have already decided that I am NOT going to let school and stuff get in the way of my workouts. I am commited to them. Last semester when I had Fundamentals my workouts were the first to go and I gained like 15 pounds :(

I think you just have to make it work!!! Schedual them in, working out should be a priority because if you think about it, you will sleep better, have less stress and more energy which is what we all need for nursing school right?!

I will continue to work out even while in nursing school. Instead of working out three days a week, I will do two days a week. I think working out will help you mentally.

My orignal plan was to sign up for a weight training class. But I might not be able to, since I'll be one of the last to register as a new student.

If not, I might join the Y and workout with my Mom. I already walk a lot, since I don't own a car and take the bus everywhere. It takes 30 minutes to walk from the nursing school home. I think I might continue to ride the bus one way and walk home as long as my textbooks are not too heavy.;)

Well, I am a n student and my dh is a med student. To make our schedule work this upcoming semester, I have to have a tight schedule. We also have a toddler.Since our child will be in daycare, I plan on writing 30 min 5 times a week into the schedule as my "Me" time because I will otherwise go crazy.

Alot of people, particularly with kids, find that they have to get up before the rest of the folks do to put a workout in. If you go outside early or late, make sure you have a shoe or wrist wallet with id on you, a cell phone and some pepper spray or a personal alarm on your person for safety.

I work out daily and will start nursing school in 2 weeks, finding time to workout was a major concern of mine as well. I plan on packing my gym bag the night before & leaving it in my car so I can work out right after school. I do plan on studying/reviewing notes while doing cardio & giving myself a study break when I lift. My first degree is in Exercise Science & I currently work in the fitness/wellness industry, so staying on track is extremely important to me.

So definitely don't neglect your bodies!! Find time 3+ days a week for yourself, even if it's 30 min. You're mind and body will thank you for it. :) Congrats HeartsOpenWide on making a lifestyle change!

I work full-time and attend school and I am going to continue to do that for nursing school. What has worked for me previously and what I hope to continue is to use my elliptical 3-4xs ea week. I use it each weekend day and 2 weekdays, time permitting (I have class/clinical T, Th, Fri this year, so those days are out since I work after class).

When I'm not in school, I run or mtn bike 5 times a week which is much more intense, but I figure at least with the ellipse I am getting my heart rate up. I don't read well on the ellipse, but I do study notes well.

I do find that I still have to work back up to my usual summer workouts so the one thing I want to change this semester is to get out and run one day a week - even if it's only 20 minutes - I think it will make my summer transition more smooth next year.

Goodluck to everyone trying to maintain their health during school...I know for me, some weeks it's super nutty and I don't do a thing but I don't let that get me down and I get right back into my routine ASAP.

Right now I workout in the AM before work. I plan on keeping it that way, except I'll workout before school and not work. The only day I don't see myself working out would be Tuesday, because that's my 7-7 day. I don't see why I'd have to change my schedule up that much if I'm doing it all in the morning before school.
