When do you find time to work out??

Published

I work out about an hour every morning. With 6:00 classes I know I am going to have to change my routine....They also say that their succesful students study at least fourty hours a week. Fine. I am use to studying alot. But I just started working out a little over a month ago. They say it takes 21 days to develop a habit...working out is a good habit and I am getting addicted...feeling antsy when I skip a day for any uncontrolled reason. When do you make time to exercise?

I go for walks as a study break because it helps relieve stress. I also have some free weights and an exercise video that I also do during my study breaks.

I'm planning on taking a textbook to the gym and reading while on the elliptical. Hopefully that'll work out good, I'll find out soon enough!:)

I used to do this when I was in my anatomy and physiology class, but it always hurt my head and eyes. I think it was the movement combined with the small print. Hopefully you have better luck than me!;) I do like the idea about listening to lectures while working out though. I've been riding my bike a lot lately and I hope I stick to it even when the weather gets bad! Seattle's not known for it for nothing! Can't quit now, my legs are getting buff! Plus I'll need the de-stressor!

I'm pretty lucky because 2 days a week I don't have class until after 10:00, and on the other 3 I don't have class until 9:30, so I will be going to the Y in the mornings. At least for the 1st 8 weeks or so, then I will have 2 6:30 days a week and will try to fit it in right after school. After I leave classes, I need a break and am not ready to hit the books for an hour or so anyways. I've been using the treadmill and elliptical, and I go to water aerobics (love it) and the weight room.

I try to do something whenever I'm watching TV, like ride the exercise bike or do sqats or crunches or something (yes, I still do find time to watch TV once in a while). I also take the dog for a walk everyday, sometimes twice a day.

I find that the best time to work out for me is at night time. I usually have classes during the day, go home, study, and go to the gym for a half hour or so. I know a lot of people recommend working out in the morning but I find it's easier for me to go to bed after a good workout.
