I have been a visitor to this site for a few weeks and now since I am officially going back to school next month, I thought I would say hello! I am so excited to be returning to school to finish my prereqs - may possibly apply for the spring semester nursing program. Since I am rather new to all of this, I was wondering if any of you would share your experiences.

What luck have you had in regards to financial aid and loans? I will not be receiving any grant money, but what experience do you have with loans? In the past, I was very fortunate and did not have to apply for loans, but now I will need the help and I am curious about your experiences, if you would be willing to share.

This is a great website and I am looking forward to talking with all of you and learning!!

Welcome!!!

I, fortunately, didn't have any trouble getting financial aid. I will be receiving a Stafford Loan for the next two years. I wish that I could have received a grant of some kind, but I made "too much money" last year.

I'm moving to Arlington next month to finish up the last two years of nursing classes at UT Arlington.

Good luck to you in finishing your pre-req's. This is a great board for support and advice.

Welcome to the bb:)

Best wishes with your classes! There are several great threads on here the pertain to student experiences and financial aid, just search a little. it helped me alot too!

Good luck!

welcome kyle's mom !!

i agree with the above posters, doing a search will bring up a lot of information.

thank goodness for student loans, if not for those, many students would not be able to go back to school, at least it's something right?

good luck and will look forward to sharing "student" expeiences !! :nurse:

and welcome. i wish you all the best!

For those of you who have gotten student loans, can you borrow enough money to help cover daycare expenses? Once I quit my job, I will have to pay for daycare still, and would like ensure we don't go broke in the meantime.

Welcome, Kyle's Mom

I have a Kyle too :)

I am lucky enough to be receiving a grant, enough to cover my tuition

I was also offered a Stafford loan, but have declined, since I am attending a community college and the tuition is not bad.

I start prereqs in Sept.

Best of luck in your studies.

Use this board daily..............it is a wonderful forum :)
