Don't be so hard on yourself, if at the end of the day you're passing the classes then you deserve the credit for those classes and did a good job!
It was because of extra credits that i passed.

Maybe you're not studying correctly or understanding the material. At least you have passed your classes whether with extra credit or not. Try to study in a different way, might as well, it cannot get worst than failing your tests. You have made it this far therefore do not give up now. and def do not use test banks, dishonesty is never the answer!!! You will do great, stay positive and keep pushing

I've been out of school many years, and am not understanding the 'test banks are cheating' statements? Can someone explain this to me? (My experience with 'test banks' is from homeschooling my kids and it must mean something completely different)

Since professors can buy them, they're on the market and students can buy them as well.

I just dont know how to study anymore! Can u give me some advice on how to study for this class?
I wish I had a magical tip for you :-/. I just break it foam by disease. What's the patho and etiology? Who's the high-risk population? How is it diagnosed? What are the signs and symptoms and most importantly...what can I do to help? Then I do as many questions as I can. I try to read about the drugs in my pharm book, but honestly I usually take a dive on the drugs due to lack of time.

What exactly are you struggling with???
Is it:
1) Choosing the best answer
2) Reading into questions/need help identifying what the question is "asking" you;
3) MAJOR test anxiety
4) all the above...or
5) insert answer here.
Once I know what you are having difficulty, I have some suggestions for you.... :)

I think we lost 20-25% of our class in med surg 2 when I was in school. It's a tough jump from med surg 1 to 2. I like what LadyFree28 is asking above. A lot to think about.
As mentioned above, don't be so hard on yourself. Nursing school is HARD. One professor once had us all stand up and had us reach as high as we could upwards with our hands towards the ceiling. Then she said "Now reach higher, as high as you can. Next semester I will want you to reach higher and higher." Meaning that each semester she is stretching us in our knowledge, in our critical thinking and how we learn and adapt.
Just remember that you are being stretched right now. You WILL get better. You will stretch and adapt and grow. Take it a day at a time, one chapter, one concept, one lecture at a time. Don't defeat yourself. You CAN do this.

Talk to your teachers - they will have much more accurate information and assistance for you than anyone here can possibly have. Take advantage of any tutoring resources you can find. The sad truth . . if you are only 'squeaking by', it will only get harder with the next class.

Corollary to HouTx's sad truth: Not everybody can be a nurse because not everyone can pass nursing school.
Run, do not walk, to your faculty and ask for help. Ask why they think you are failing. Listen closely to what they tell you. Do what they tell you to do. Check back with them twice a week. They have, in fact, seen it all before and are really in a good position to help you...if you can do what you have to do.
