How many days and hours per week.......

  1. is your clinical 1 in school? My nursing program starts this Fall, and I enrolled in nursing clinical 1, only on Mondays from 8:30am to 12:00pm. Does that sound kinda short to you....only one day a week, 3 and a half hours long? Are yours like that too? If not, how many days and hours will you go? (not including any pre-req courses)....TIA!

I'm not entirely sure yet, our director said that they don't have a set clinical schedule until the first week or so of school. We have theory on Wednesdays from 8 to 3:30, then two full days of clinicals per week. The first four weeks we will be on-campus in their learning labs, then after that we go out into the local nursing homes & do clinicals there.

I don't know how many hours, but I'll be there 2 - 3 days per week, and I'll be taking 10 credit hours.

Lordy, lordy...i just got a call from the admissions dept at my college, and they asked me why wasn't I enrolled in my clinicals, and why was I enrolled only for my nursing lecture class? How embarassing! See, that is what I get for not having a counselor and registering online...LOL...so I just answered my own question I asked about why I don't have alot of hours in my Fall semester. LOL. I already am goofing up, and I haven't even started the term yet. someone knock some sense into me and give me a cyber slap pleeeeaaasseeee! HaHa.:chuckle

My clinical 1 was lab. We had paid volunteers come in so that we could practice assessments on them. Lab was twice a week, 3hrs/day. 2nd semester clinicals was 2 days/week, 8.5 hrs/week, same this semester.

oops...just to clarify...semester 1 was one clinical day in the hospital from 8 a.m. to 2:00 after which from 2-3 we had post-conference

semester 2 was 2 clinical days (same as above)

semester 3 starting in august will be 2 clinical days from 7:00-3:00 with more than one patient to take care of.
