I am please to say that I put in my first foley. I took me, my teacher, and another student to find the hole but i did it!(she was really swelled)..I'm just so happy. I felt really confident going into it. It also helped that I had a patient that stated "you have to learn sometime, you can do it on me". Im just excited!:)

Wow, congrats!!!I would have been a wreck :chuckle

That's great! :balloons:

I haven't had the opportunity to do one yet. I haven't even had the chance to WATCH one!! I'm scared to death of doing it anyway. I know that when I finally do get one (successfully), I will be just as happy as you!

Yay! Doesn't it feel great! I just did my first one a few weeks ago, so I know how you feel! Makes you want to do a bunch to practice your new skill "for real". Congratulations!:balloons:

Yaaaaaayyyyyyyy!! Good job, congrats. Haven't done mine on a "real" pt either, but would like to.

As a nurse for 30 years, I can still remember my 1st foley. Congratulations you deserve to celebrate

Great job! I remember my first too (10 years ago!) It wasn't a blinking eye. LOL. A prolapsed uterus and the fact that she was 101yrs old..but I did it.

Congratulations! I did my first foley as well yesterday and it went a lot better than I ever expected it too. Funny how I spent the last 5 months freaking out about putting one in. :chuckle

congratulations, I haven't done one yet on a person but in lab. can't wait to do one. I have observed a few though. Good job.

Congrats!!!!!!! lol... I didn't do my first female foley until after I was out of school. Female foleys are like my achilles heel or something. For some reason things don't look quite as neat as they do on those anatomy charts.
