  1. I just recently gotten married, and I am in the process of getting my social security card. My application for graduation is due on Jan 20th and I havent gotten all of my information changed at my school because I need my social security card. My card wont be in until after this deadline. I was wanting to know if they can change my information when I get my social security card or what. I know this sounds confusing but I dont want any of my information to be messed up when I take my NCLEX. This is shotting my nerves. Thanks!!!!!!!
  2. My Nusing Diagnosis is constipation. I know some interventions but the problem is my pt. is NPO. So i cant say increase her fiber intake or anything like that. She is on no laxatives and stool softeners. She had a colon resection. Sorry if this is vague but do you have any ideas for constipation. For example I have intervention: encourage pt to be involved in ADL's and to walk halls every day. Rationale:Movement helps cause an increase in peristalsis. Any ideas. Im stuck thanks.
  3. Congratulations to you!!! Im getting married in September.(it will be my last year of school) I know school will be in but I know I can do it. I have the mind set that I am not going to put my life on hold because of school. But hey that is just me. I know some people that did it and they did fine. I hear that you just have to have good planning. During the summer I am going to get most of the things ready. Plus school will be in only a few weeks before I get married. That means no clinicals for the week before or after. Good luck in your planning and school. I know you can do it.
  4. I had to watch my grandmother get suctioned out..It didnt gross me out because I seen the shape she was in and I knew it helped her. I would try to get nurses to suction her out when she got "clogged up" but no one seemed to want to do it. I asked her nurse and she expected me to do it (I was not in nursing school, I had no training and that was my grandmother). She didnt even show me, and still expected me to do it! I would go in an see my grandmother and you could tell she hadnt been suctioned out for a while. It was so bad. I know some things gross me out but if it comes to helping a patient I will do what ever I could. I know if i was in that situation I would want the same. After seeing the way my grandmother was treated I would do anything.
  5. My grandmother had a heart attack and was on a ventilator for a couple months and then she set up sepsis...she got better and got off the vent..she could mouth words to us..she couldnt talk because she had a trache but she try to talk...we thought for sure she was going to pull through and we was going to take her home in a few days..but two days before we was going to bring her home she ended up aspirating because of her tube feedings and it caused her to quit breathing..she had quit breathing and her heart had stopped for about 10 minutes before they got her back.when me and mom my got the the hospital they had put her one life support..my mom was the power of the attorney so she made the decision of taking her off..I just want to say that my heart goes out to you....I knew how hard this was for my mom and I wish no one had to go through what she did....this was about 4 months ago and she lost her dad monday...my thoughts are with you and your family through this hard time...
