BLAH!!! I'm completely unmotivated!

OK, I've been sitting here trying to write one of the 7 papers that I need to get done today, and I cant get going. My brain is fried, im completely unmotivated. I have bunches of stuff that I need to write for my Staff Management class, but OMG if that book its slightly less exciting than watching paint dry!

I mostly have to write reviews of articles, and the articles are not any more exciting than the book! I keep having to re-read them since my mind is not even trying to process the words on the page. This is NOT GOOD! barely 3 weeks into the semester, and I am begging for Christmas vacation.

I feel like banging my head against the wall until my brain cells either start processing information, or I kill them all off! Not to mention that although my brain has shut down, my body is jumping all over the place, i cant sit still! My eyes hurt from trying to read too. AHHHH! This is irritating!

I know some of you out there are feeling the exact same way! Just wanted to let you know that you are not alone :)

I hear ya!! I can't get my brain to soak in any of the information I need to learn for my A&P test next monday. grrr. :)

hope you just jumped in and got it done, because by the time you read this, you'll be able to breath a sigh of relief because its done:)

YES!!!!!!! I know how you feel. My clinicals start this week and I am just dreading them. Last year I failed out at the final by 2/10ths of a point. Yes, I could have fought them(the school) and probably passed but decided that I would better benefit from doing it again. (After all, I would not want a nurse caring for me that passed because she/he complained.) But now I am just frustrated and unmotivated. I SHOULD have gotten my butt in gear and gotten it done last year. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I guess part of my problem is that all of my friends are now nurses. Plus, I called my BF from school (who withdrew because of her grades) and she seems so standoffish(is that a word?? :D ). I have not made any friends in my new class. I know I will snap out of it but in the mean time it STINKS!!!!!

Brandy, I feel your pain! ;-) Reading my textbooks is like taking a Benedryl. ZZZ Actually, I spent Sunday studying. I broke it up into small chunks. I did one class and took a break, did something else, took a break. Maybe, if you just did one article and then did something fun for 15-30 min. The next one ought to come easier. In any case, good luck.

Welcome to the club, Brandy, dear.....!

I am in the same boat you are. I have the opportunity to get work done ahead of time, but I choose to procrastination. I have learned in the past this procrastination just adds to my stress level. So I just complete my work in intervals and give myself a reward during my ten minute breaks.:)

Nothing's a better motivator than procrastinating too long......got me through my nursing program. :D

Learned that I worked better under pressure!!!

I'm sooooo glad that I'm not alone in the "can't get motivated club"!! I've got so much to do, but my brain cells have decided that the three week break I had wasn't long enough for them....I think they're going for 8!!!

My papers are done!!!! I dont have another paper due for that class until October 10th!!! woohoo *does a little happy dance*.

I still have reading to do for wednesday, but atleast i can have the rest of the night off :)

Now i have to go find information about Non-ketotic syndrome?

atleast those darn papers are done!

Brandy, you sound just like I did when I was in Nursing school. My last semester of college, I was in my semester of Community Health Nursing and we had to write a 15 to 30 page paper on some community health issue. It made up like 25% of our final grade. I had my research done and all that but I never started actually writing the thing till the NIGHT BEFORE IT WAS DUE! It took me about 5 hours to write and I got a 91% on it, which was good enough for me.

I have always been a procrastinator when it comes to stuff like that. This is probably why I have no interest in returning to school for my Masters Degree! Dont wanna have to write a thesis! YUCK! I think I'd rather have a root canal!

In my pediatrics rotation, I waited til the night before the final and the NLN to do 9 out of 16 "care plans"!

Fortunaltely it was a form type deal, but there was still alot of narrative. We even had to know what the normal dentition for age was!!

To make matters worse, we were in a dorm, lights out at 9:00, (ok, it WAS the dark ages) I had to take my lamp, books and pen into my closet!!!
