    Good luck!

i really feel for you. people without weight issues are soooo lucky. i was on atkins for 6 months. i did lose, but be careful, it allows you to basically eat as much as you want of fatty things. that's dangerous. if you ever go off atkins, it is hard to learn portion control, because it's easy to get so nutty with the amount of cheese and fatty foods. try to learn portion control and eventually get those good grain carbs back in your diet. i'm trying weight watchers right now, but i lack the motivation. you will lose alot of weight. sugarfree jello mixed with sugarfree whipped cream is a lifesaver when the family is eating ice cream. i wish you soooo much luck. i am tempted to go back on atkins because i gained everything back, but i can't do it forever. lose the weight, then find a maintenance that works for you. i wish you the absolute best.

im on it have lots 43 pounds since last fall, feel great my blood work was great back in december when it was done. I'm trying to get back into my exercise routine to kickstart more weight loss this month. If you are following the plan correctly, i think it is a healthy way of eating. remember to drink your water!

I have done Atkins before. If you follow the plan, and gradually add back in your carbs, you should do just fine. Despite the rumors, Atkins does not advocate eating beyond what you need. There is also a chapter about Calories, which, as you go through the 4 different phases, do matter. Best of luck!

Btw, I started at 220 lbs, and am now about 150lbs.! You CAN do this!

I was able to lose weight each time I tried the Atkins diet. I lost 8 lbs the first time and 11 lbs the second time. I never stayed on the diet longer than 2 months, though. You will be successful at losing just be strict about not cheating....ever. My favorite treat on this diet was to pour two tablespoons of heavy whipping cream into a glass and then pour a diet rootbeer over it. It gets fizzy and fluffy and tastes just like a rootbeer float.

    Hi,

I too did Atkins and lost a considerable amount of weight. You do have to remember though to drink lots of water everyday because Atkins is rough on your kidneys. (So my nutrition professor says)

    Goodluck

Well - I'm pretty much in the same boat as the OP. Since I'm doing online classes for my MSN - I sit here and get bigger and bigger. I started Atkins May 27th and have lost 4# already. Really need to lose about 60# - so we'll see. I do like though that I'm not hungry!

I do drink the water. I fill a 2lt bottle up with water and drink from it to make sure I get my 8 glasses in. For the first 2 days it was hard to get it all in but now I drink it plus another couple of glasses.

My question is what do you eat for breakfast? That is besides eggs ham and bacon (with no added sugar)

Alot of the time I grab a high protein bar. The slimfast 1 carb bar white rhasberry chocolate is very good. Sometimes I'll have a few slices of cheese.
I always keep a rotiserrie (spelling ) chicken on hand to pick on. I actually have some great breakfast suggestions. If you feel on the spicy side go for scrambled eggs mixed in with onion and andouie sausage. The condiment of choice would be salsa. Or if your feeling a little italian you could always go for pepperoni and egg. Don't forget once you get a little further into your program there are some low carb cereals out there. But me personally, being the bad eater that I am also just enjoy having a dish of Breyers low carb ice cream (delicious) smothered in whipped cream. Oh, try the chocolate whipped cream, it's out of this world. As you can tell I don't possess the best eating habits.

Have you tried making flourless quiches? They are heavenly, even my puppies love them..............Actually make about 4 or 5 at a time and keep them in the refrigerator, gtreat for their meals and with a quick reheat for me.
I don't follow the diet strictly, have found what works for me and have stuck to it. By removing white sugar, white bread, white rice, and white pasta from your diet, you will find that you have so much more energy.

Good luck and let us know how you do.
