Anyone Required To Take ERI?

I know a lot of people here have said they're required to pass HESI before graduation, but is anyone required to take ERI? That's what we have to take in order to graduate, the ERI RN Assessment. We get 3 chances.

I took it the first time before spring break, a few weeks ago. We're required to get a 65, I got a 60. The instructors told us before we took it that it's common not to pass it on the first attempt. I was really disappointed when I saw I got a 60, thinking I'd be one of the only ones in the class that didn't pass. But actually, only a few students passed it. I talked to other people, some got as low as a 49, most were about where I was 55-60. Made me feel a little better, but I'm still stressing over it! I take it the 2nd time next Tues.

Just a little scared about it. I'm sure I'll do ok, I'm doing all the RNCAPS and the Practice RN Assessment, but it's still nerve-wracking knowing I have to pass it or else I fail the course.

They tell us a 65 on this exam shows we have about a 95% chance to pass the NCLEX. That's good to know, just hope I make it!

Yes, we have to take the stupid ERI for EVERY nursing class we have. In fact, we have to take 4 in one semester, right after our finals. If we don't pass on the first shot, we need to do remedial work. :uhoh3:

Ditto. 2 or 3 is the most we have in one semester I think though. (This semester they will have pharm, psych, and medsurg I think... I already did psych and was surprised how well I did on it on the first shot! I missed on the pharm one last year and had to do the remediation).

Yeah we have to do the RNCAPS each semester too, don't think there's a limit on the tries though, we just have to do the remediation and then take it again. The Pre-RN Assessment though is over 250 questions, it took me over 3 hours to do it. That's the one that's getting me all stressed out.

Same over here, too. The only difference is that we don't have to take them AFTER finals; just within the last two weeks of school. If we don't pass the national average, we have to do 100 NCLEX questions as remeditation.

YUCK! ERI sucks. I'm just pissy because I just got through taking a few notes over it to turn in. It took for-ever. We have to take it if we get less than a 75 on our tests. Taking the ERI doesn't change your score...but not taking it means that you wont be able to take the next test and will have to take essay tests comprised of one question...and you still have to do the ERI anyway.

They just started ERI this semester at my school. As of now...it is only an "assessment" tool for the instructors to see what we are learning. We do not have to pass the tests and they do not count toward our grades.

I've taken a couple CAPS(A&P and clinical calc) and did really well on almost all of the subdivisions. Reproductive health on A&P sucked though. That is because of 2 things...it's been 8 years since I took A&P and as an LPN, I have worked with old women whose plumbing don't work.

Those darn menstruation phases. Ughh. :rotfl:

We have to take the ERI too. At this point it's just NCLEX practice and doesn't impact our grade, but the tests seem completely hideous. Totally random, unconnected to anything we learn in class, and not in the least bit helpful :angryfire . Hoping they get rid of it, since we even have to pay for the privilege of suffering through the test.

We also have to take several ERI's a semester depending on which classes we are in. We have unlimited attempts to pass, but if we don't then we have to drop whatever class the ERI was for. I think they suck because they don't even cover what we're being taught in the class. It scares me because I wonder if we are learning what we need to know for the NCLEX.

PHCC in fl is using ERI and Web CT for alot of are lab test with 100% meds and 75% on other test. If you don't pass your math cal. you are out of the program

I had my 2nd attempt to take the ERI RN Assessment last Fri. Had to get a 60 this time around .... I was SO worried and nervous. If I didn't pass this time then I would have only 1 more chance to pass or else I'd fail the course and wouldn't graduate!

Went in, took the exam. The computer scores it right away. I got a 67!!!! I passed!!!!! That means I get to graduate in a few short weeks!! :)

I learned that 24 of my classmates didn't pass it on the 2nd attempt though. That's kinda scary. They just have to do a bunch of remediation and practice ERI exams, then they take it for the 3rd and final time the last week of April. I hope and pray that each and every one of them passes, they're good students!

I have been accepted to start a BSN program in the fall. I took gross anatomy as a part of a master's degree program six years ago. Instead of making me take the A/P I & II pre-requisite, my school is going to let me (make me?) take an ERI Anatomy & Physiology test. They told me it was 90 questions, and it covers "human anatomy and physiology", but that's about it.

Can anyone here tell me what I'm in for?? Are there published study guides that exist? I went to the ERI website, the same people who make the NET test I took, but I can't seem to find anything specific to this test. Is it the same as the RN-CAP stuff they talk about? Is it a specific test, or does it sound like I'm just going to be taking a portion of this atrocious test y'all are talking about?

Thanks in advance!

Michelle
