hello friends! i am entering my 3rd week of rn school and had my first exam today. i will let you know how it went when the results are posted. i was doing alright until one of the students asked if she had to wear her uniform to clinicals:confused:.......i couldn't believe it. i have a sore throat and am trying to study for a pharm test tomorrow, prepare for the first exam in health assessement a week from tomorrow, and prepare my notes for fundamentals exam ii, in two weeks. i needed to "!scream!" and i knew i could come here and do just that. thanks for listening.

how are things going for you?

Oh Stephany!!! I need to scream too!!!! I just don't even know where to begin. Well, one of the students sent around a petition today to increase the hours that the lab is open. Hopefully that will help. i had my first exam this morning & hopefully will know how I did tomorrow. I did manage to pass my first skill check today!!! :) I did a great job washing my hands!!! But, I have my vitals skill check on Wed. & am not very confident with taking a B/P yet. Most of the other students are CNAs & can do it without even thinking. We are going over it again in class tomorrow & if I still don't have it down pat, then I will reschedule my skill check. Now I feel better :) Thanks for letting me scream!!! :)

stephany and lisa...

i certainly understand where you are both coming from. i am having to repeat this semester and next, but do remember what they were like the first time around.

stephany, where did this person think she was going to wear her uniform to...if not clinicals?? i hope you get to feeling better soon. i'm sure you did good on your first exam and will do fine on the upcoming ones as well. my thoughts and prayers are certainly with you. and of course, you can come in here and scream any time!! we are here to help each other through this all.

lisa, here's hoping that you get increased hours available in the lab >. i'm sure you too did well on your first exam. and i bet if you go ahead and do your check off fo b/p, you'll do great on it as well. my thoughts and prayers are with you as well.

remember, "i can do anything i set my mind to."

:D :nurse:

I guess we are all in the same boat.. "nursing school"..lol.. I'm not too nervous about the exams but I do want to do everything just right for skills and clinicals:eek: and that makes me a little nervous:cool:

I agree with Marie, we are all going through the same stuff it seems. Just getting ready for the tests can make you crazy. I had my first quiz in Health Assessment today and the way I was studying, you would think it was the midterm. I can't imagine how I'll be then. Won't get the results back until next Monday but pretty sure I did good.

I will get my 1st A&P exam back tomorrow night. Now that exam I am worried about. This weekend is my 2nd psych test. My problem is deciding what to read first and how to study it all.

All I can say is AHHHHH! good grief this is tough. I never in my wildest dreams thought this could be so hard. Here is an interesting bit alot of the A&P calss don't ahve books yet. I got mine as soon as the book store sold them. I was lucky. I can't imagine not ahving the material to study from. I am getting by.I have alot of late nights I hope I don't get sick.I really don't need that. I am looking forward to starting clinical though. I think that will be alot of fun and very interesting. I love talking to the elderly people so I will be in my element. Our first rotation is in a long term care facility right in our very own hospital. Well I best get to sleep.good night all. So very tired

(((HUGS)))) I just wanted to send everyone some well deserved hugs! You guys are working so hard!!! I hope to be joining the ranks soon!!! Good luck to you all!

BOO HOO HOO!!!! I hate care plans! :o :(

Ok, I feel better! Just finished the first one...going to bed. Have clinical tomorrow....

All i can say is that she better like all my interventions and rationales, goals and expected outcomes or else.....

Its the poop list for my instructor!

Think she will care????

NAA, me neither....oh well! Thanx for the vent!

Gator

the care plan hater!

Deep breathing and lollipops go getters! And just remember, the second you think of throwing the book at the wall and putting the studying off...you fall behind, and falling behind only means twice the work!! Falling behind is detrimental to a nursing student who already has more than enough on her plate!!! Keep those chins up and noses in the books, remember our hard work only gets us closer to the end of the tunnel :)

Need to vent? Yea, I need to vent! :(

At work Saturday night, an older nurse was overheard telling another nurse about how she didn't know what was wrong with the "new girl" and she sure as h*** didn't know what was wrong with Julie (me), but she "knew" she didn't want me working there as a nurse when I got my license! :(

Know why? Because we had 2 people left to get in bed at 8pm.

8pm!

I hope when I do get my license, that I get to work side by side with her.......

I hope so too Julie ! Sometimes I think people make remarks like that nurse did to make themselves look better or feel better. it's not fair to those just learning:o

So....much.....reading.............so...little.....time..........

Actually my main gripe is the difference in study habits between me and my roommate.

I study------she doesn't (she is also in the nursing program)

Oh well, things could be so much worse.

Good luck to all of you-----we will make it through this.
