Any Pre-req books needed in Nursing School?

I was wondering if any of the books I used for my prereqs will be needed in Nursing School?

I currently have taken and still have in my possession my: Psychology, Human Growth and Development, and Nutrition books.

Would it be a good idea to hold on to them to refer back to in nursing school?

Has anyone here kept their books and still use them?

Keep your A&P book forever!! Also Micro might come in handy and Human Growth and development

We have to have our a&p books. I also kept my micro book. I'm kind of wishing I would have kept my human growth and development.

I kept no pre-req books, and I have not needed them over the past year.

I kept my A&P but haven't used it. My med-surg book for NS covers all the necessary info. I wish now I had just sold it... could have probably got well over $100 for it. As for books after NS I work in OB so I'll keep my maternal child book but the rest I'm giving to my girlfriend who is two years behind me! I have a friend/coworker who gave me a great careplan book and the Saunders Comp book and I could have kissed her right on the spot!

Well, I'd have to say I'm glad I asked because it just seemed to me that keeping all of the science and social science type book would be the best thing. People go around telling you that you should keep them.

I could understand A&P and Micro, but I really had the impression that we needed to keep them all to use in NS. I'm a person who loves knowledge, but I don't want to keep a book that will not be of further use beyond the course completion. And on the other hand, I don't want to get rid of those that actually would.

Is it a personal preference?

Thanks for the opinions thus far, much help.

I kept my A&P and some other book (they weren't buying it back), but to be honest, I haven't used either of them for any kind of reference. My NS books seem to have most information I need, or as someone pointed out awhile back, most any reference you might need can probably be found on the web...

My A and P notes were a great help, I could live without the books. Although I may start using the A and P book next semester

I still have my books from when I attend RN school back in the late 80's! And honestly I have referred back to them again and again over the years.

I have kept ALL my books for ALL the classes (whether Nursing related or not) that I've ever taken. My college Algebra books have come in handy when having to review for my entrance test, and my daughter has used them when she was learning Algebra.

I personally keep my books. If you have the room for them, I'd keep them.

Not to mention, sometimes I read something in my nursing book and don't quite grasp what they are saying, I pull out another book and read how they word it and 9 out of 10 times, I get it after reading another author's/book's way of working it.

My A & P books have been referenced a lot this year. I stole my daughter's HG&D as I have not taken that class yet and it was very helpful.

Keep your A & P and HG&D.

Sometimes the nursing text's just cover the basics assuming you already know the major stuff from having taken the other courses which is why they come in so handy.

I didn't even use my A&P book while I was taking the course. I was going to sell it but it's only going for around $15 so I'll keep it just in case. Most anything can be found online so I don't really see the need to keep a lot of the prereq textbooks, unless you didn't really grasp the material the first time around. I find my lecture notes much more valuable (and take up less space) so I have saved those. I'm also going to keep my nutrition book because it is very useful in planning a healthy diet.
