"oh Lucy!.....You got some 'splaining to do!"...Ricky Ricardo

Has anyone ordered lab coats, stethescopes, cuffs, or other things from a company that gave prompt, communicative, customer service?.....'cause I'm still looking.

I ordered an embroidered lab coat(an extravagance, I know) more than a week ago from( the name has been changed for my own amusement) The Lucy Ricardo co. I just recieved a notice in my email "your credit card has been charged and the items will be shipped by the manufacturer".

Gee, sorry to wake you.

The Lucy Ricardo co stated( on thier order form) ten-fourteen days after the order for delivery of embroidered items.

A week to put in an order that I did online? I expect nothing less than a solid month to actually get it, and now I'm sure it will read "BREAD" instead of "BRAD" Of course in about a week or so they will email me that they called the manufacturer to order my item, but they just got the answering machine, and they promise to try back again tomorrow.:p

Has anyone worked with a medical supply company that they had a good customer experience with?:)

I fear the worst:eek:

Specializes in Hospice, Critical Care.

I've ordered online from both Jasco Uniform Co. and S.C.R.U.B.S. and never had any problem.

I've ordered from All Heart and Scrub-a-dubs.com. I've always received my orders rather promptly and even received the correct items.

I too, have ordered from allheart.com and beeen very satisfied. They have a wide variety of products, plus good prices too!

Specializes in pediatrics, geriatrics, med-surg, ccu,.

I have ordered online from Jasco, Sears, Pennies, and also from S.R.U.B.S and have never had any problems. Most of the time I have recieved the uniforms within a week.

Green Scrubs at http://www.greenscrubs.com was very prompt. Got what I ordered in a few days....from San Francisco, CA!!! Also, when I had a question and called, I was expecting a long wait on the phone.....not so. Someone picked up by the 3rd ring and was able to track my item and answer my question. They were great.

Specializes in ER.

I may be dense, but they said it would take 10-14 days, and it's been a week, and you are already kvetching? If you can't deal with the 14 day thing, why order from them? You can get your lab coat embroidered at the mall.

Specializes in NICU, Infection Control.

It may have been an automatic computer-generated response sent when you placed the order. See what happens next. I think I might've ordered something simpler til I knew I what to expect, but, what the heck.

Thank you all for your responses thus far,

I am "kvetching" because it apparently took them a week to, in their own words "place " the order, so that magical 10-14 days from the day I ordered would have in fact placed the lab coat in my possession before the day I actually needed it.:) and that is no less than what anyone should expect. It would have been what "the Lucy Ricardo co." stated on their own website as an average expectation, nothing unusual.

I've ordered "next day" from Cdnow.com twice(at two in the afternoon no less) and in fact, received my items by 11 am the next day on both occassions. That is excellent customer service, and what every company is capable of, if they would only try.

Now if I knew a place that would embroider on the spot I would just do that, you betcha. In fact, there is only one place listed for scrubs within a 30 min drive so I doubt very much that they are motivated at all, given their apparent cornering of the local market, but now I will be forced to find out.

In the company's defense, they did send me an email, with a "real" persons name. the computer generated one came immediately after my order was placed.

You will also take note that I have not used their real name YET, to give them a chance to respond to the error before I go off thinking they don't care if they get our business or not.

I just think many of us order online and we should all know who wants our business and who just wants our money;)

We should have a level of expectation for the buying power we have as a group in this niche market. That's why I posted the thread. I think we should all give our business, not just to the companies that don't seem to have customer complaints(cdnow.com), but also to those companies that show us their loyalty by going out of their way to fix the ones they do have.

More will be posted about this company accurately, as it occurs.

I have replied to their email with a request that would fix the problem.

Here is an idea of what has happened so far.

Thursday Aug. 30th:ordered late in the day and did not expect anyone to enter it untill the next day. The obligitory computer generated response is delivered promptly.

Expectation for delivery is around Friday the 14th-18th realisticaly

Friday September 7th: Get an email stating that "the following items ordered on 9/02/01 have been processed and your credit card has been charged, and (the order) will be shipped by the manufacturer."

Ok that's great, but the actual order seems to have traveled to the moon and back before they got it on the 2nd(which would be weird because the 2nd was a Sunday) Since my card was not charged untill the 7th now my expectations of delivery are the 21st-25th:eek:

I'm not going "Ralph Nader" on everybody, but wouldn't you have an expectation greater than this?

Anyhoo, I'm sure someone just screwed this up and they will find a way to make me a happy customer.

It wouldn't take that much, really.

I'll post more as I hear..........keep posting your favorite companies! and of course, any that you think(be fair, not just pissed)you got a raw deal from.

I have ordered from Jasco and received my stuff in as little as 2 or 3 days!! I really like their service. I have also ordered from Uniform City...they were good too. AND...both have GREAT prices. I did not however order from these comapnies online. I used a credit card and ordered over the phone.

Thanks!

Shari
