The loss of a doc

Late last week an ER physician died as a result of an asthma attack at home while her husband was out of town. I didn't work with her or know her personally, but work with some who did. She was apparently a great physician and wonderful woman with her whole life ahead of her. I had met her orthopod husband a time or three. The area is devastated. It has hit many people in our profession hard. Even the docs aren't immune to these things. Everyone please keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks.

Thanks for letting us know. We had a helicopter go down about three years ago and like you - it hit us hard. Give yourself permission to grieve. I'm sorry and will keep you in my prayers.

wow, thats terrible. So preventable too (seemingly)! Helath care ppl take care of everyone else, forget to take care of themselves. My heart goes out to you and her family.

Yes..it hits home to often..couple of years ago a ER doc was killed by a drunk driver only a few miles away after getting off of work. Last week a ER nurse lost her 3 yr old in a drowning....that was one of the hardest codes to work...death and dying is daily occurence in the ED...Sometimes its just too much, all you want to do is hug those you love...Life is to precious!

I will be keeping you and everyone involved in my prayers. Several years ago in this city we had a doctor who was shot by his wife as he parked the car in the garage. He had been cheating with his secretary and she was fed up, to say the least. It's really too bad... he was the best hand surgeon we had in this area, his talent was a great loss to our community. It was very sad, as my mom worked with him on a daily basis.

I'm sorry that a situation like this has affected you. Know that you will be in people's thoughts and prayers.
