Signing RN behind my name

Hi just a quick question, I recently recvd my offer letter for a new job and signed and fax it back to my recruiter the other day. I am newly licensed and it just dawned on me that I did not sign RN behind my name on my offer letter! Does this really matter? Since it wasn't actual hospital chart info or anything floor related like that..it never even dawned on me to do so! Should I just sign RN on everything work related from here on out?!

I wouldn't worry about not signing RN in that particular instance... however at work I sign everything followed by RN.

I wouldn't worry; I sign my regular 'civilian' name on work documents for HR, payroll and the like. I save the 'RN' for times it is necessary to indicate my position - like patient records, union forms, nursing education hours at work, etc.

I wouldn't worry about not signing RN in that particular instance... however at work I sign everything followed by RN.

Ok thx for the response..yeah I figured it would be okay..I just totally forgot since that was the first thing I signed since becoming a nurse, I def won't forget when I get on the floor. I'll prob even just sign the rest of my paperwork with RN too. ;)

You will eventually catch yourself signing RN on checks and everything else!!

If you sent a proper typed letter or email with a signature, you would write something like this at the end of the text. Note that your degree precedes your licensure. If you have certifications, they follow it.

I agree with the past few posters. I catch myself trying to sign with my rn on everything! Congrats on getting a job!! :)

Haha, I was just filling out bills and started to sign "RN" after my name on one of them. It's habit since the majority of times I'm signing my name, it's on work-related documents.

After 13 years, I sign RN on everything.... I have never been questioned....
