Say Cheese! (they're putting in cameras)

Nurses General Nursing

Published

hi guys..

I was just told that in where I work, they;re installing cameras in the hallways and nurses stations... which I really dont mind....

but... I just wanna know,

do yous think it is because of legislation(which I haven't heard of, but, my bro is telling me this), or, because of perhaps our recent 'eloper'(to make sure the nurses are doing our jobs....?

thanks for the info

We have had cameras in house for over 5 years. They are located in back halls that are out of sight and on L&D and in Peds for security reasons. Also parking lots. Mike

For security purposes - ok.

To watch and make sure your staff are doing their jobs. Nope.

steph:D

I dunno.... but, I'm going in on saturday... I'll probably get the full scoop then...

we dont have a parking lot, per se... and, not too many back hallways.... (very small building.... I understanding camera-ing the basement..)

:)

thanks so far

No matter what's stated in the "official" policy that's put out, be aware that the recordings obtained will be used for any and all purposes that can be justified.

If people are doing their job as it should be, the cameras shouldn't be a problem.

Right?

Too bad the cameras weren't rolling when my old nurse mgr was at her worst with me which was most of the time.

I suppose they would serve a useful purpose as long as they don't edit the film to their advantage. Now.......doesn't that sound like "TPTB" crap.
