I'm sort of torn about how I feel about this method of evaluating an employee.

What do you guys think?

I always got one of the Sweet Nurses that are like seasoned as a taco, but slow as molasses, but very sweet,. . .so you hate to be honest on the thing!

and my report ends up in the hands of some power hungry, critical, ranting DON wannabee, EVERYTIME!

I think they can be useful especially for off shifts. I think that if you get to choose one or two people and the management gets to choose a couple of people, and they are anonymous, it can be pretty non partisan. Which for some managers I have witnessed, is an extremely hard task. If however the manager keeps absolute power, she might as well just do it her/him self.

we used to do our own, then the DON would sit down and do one, then we would compare!!! well, the DON didn't work side by side so poo... wasn't a great system.

Our DON always gives hers to the suck-up!

Every staff is composed of the following:

The over-achiever, the "I could care less," the suck-up, the introverted zombie, the angry-anal one, the Comedian (Boston), the nurse kratchet, the tattletail, the assistant charge nurse, the good looking one, the one who got their license in a cereal box, the "everything's kool one," and the pouty-whiner.

I just wish we had that much help!I would take a borderline for crazy nights! But, you and vesp just summed up the whole workforce!!!

By-the-way, my wife tells me I laugh too hard at my on lame jokes to be a comedian, she's my rock! Lol. Always full of encouragement! (personally I just think she doesn't get the joke!) Hahaha
