My heart is grateful today...

I went to a thrift store today and the lady there asked where I worked at. I told her where and she said that she would like to donate clothes, games, and stuffed animals to my facility. I was just amazed and very grateful that she would even offer. We have many residents whose families do not come in to visit who are in need of clothes and personal items. The clothes donation would come in handy. What would really warm the residents hearts would be the stuffed animals. :redbeathe Those are a hot item amongst the residents.

On another note, while I was doing my rounds last night, a family member passed by me, stopped, and asked if my name was Poi. I said it was and he went on to tell that he had given me a ride home when my car was broken down. I remembered that. It turns out that his mom is a resident there. When he had dropped me off at my place, I offered him some money but he refused it saying that he wants nothing and did it out of the goodness of his heart. Now months later, I am taking care of his mom. The night he saw me, he told that I have more than repaid him back :redpinkhe We hugged and he told me to take care of myself.

I do not believe that this was a coincidence. I have had similar things happen to me and I feel that there are higher forces at work here. The lesson I learned today was that being kind and being a decent person comes back. I am blessed.

If you would like to, please share what recent good things have happened to you. Thanks for reading this post.

I do meals on wheel delivering meals. I had taken a month off during my transports since my summer clinical interfered with the time. During that time I work as a tech in the ER and I was doing an EKG in the room when a woman who was a friend of the pt came in and we saw each other and stopped. We kept asking each other "where do I know you from!" It wasn't until last week when I restarted my delivery that the door opened and I saw the woman and both of our jaws dropped to the floor. Nice to know who the mystery lady was :)

Also during my first semester of clinical I didn't realize it but I was taken care of one of my friend's grandmother with her husband in the room. They looked so familiar and I could not place it until my friend's mom came in and I knew immediately. I had met her grandparent's during volleyball. That was a very special day I enjoyed

This made me smile.

Thanks:D

The other day I went to get some groceries and such from the store. I was at the check out and just as my last item rang through the lady behind me in line told the cashier "I would like to pay it forward". I was shocked, I didnt understand. The lady said, "I'll get it! You have a great day." She asked the cashier to continue to ring her items through. She paid for all of my stuff! Can you believe it? I was so surprised, I am used to working hard to pay for everything I have. I have never met this lady before. I can't believe that we have such amazing people in the world. I look forward to repaying the favor to someone at some point :)

Thank you guys for sharing happy things. It's good to remember there still is kindness in the universe.

Those types of stories make me continue to have hope that it's not all bad out there.

Some days it certainly feels like it is. All you hear about are the bad things, and it seems no one cares about anyone other than themselves anymore. I worry about what the world will be like when my boys are grown, it's already so very different from even when I was growing up, and I'm only 33. :)
