My heart is grateful today...

Published

I went to a thrift store today and the lady there asked where I worked at. I told her where and she said that she would like to donate clothes, games, and stuffed animals to my facility. I was just amazed and very grateful that she would even offer. We have many residents whose families do not come in to visit who are in need of clothes and personal items. The clothes donation would come in handy. What would really warm the residents hearts would be the stuffed animals. :redbeathe Those are a hot item amongst the residents.

On another note, while I was doing my rounds last night, a family member passed by me, stopped, and asked if my name was Poi. I said it was and he went on to tell that he had given me a ride home when my car was broken down. I remembered that. It turns out that his mom is a resident there. When he had dropped me off at my place, I offered him some money but he refused it saying that he wants nothing and did it out of the goodness of his heart. Now months later, I am taking care of his mom. The night he saw me, he told that I have more than repaid him back :redpinkhe We hugged and he told me to take care of myself.

I do not believe that this was a coincidence. I have had similar things happen to me and I feel that there are higher forces at work here. The lesson I learned today was that being kind and being a decent person comes back. I am blessed.

If you would like to, please share what recent good things have happened to you. Thanks for reading this post.

I do believe that things happen for a reason .. I also believe people come into our lives for a reason.. maybe we don't understand why at the time but these are great stories and thanks for sharing..

I was in a small, family-owned scrub store one day looking for new scrubs. Another customer walked in and I overheard her say that she desperately needed a Littman stethoscope for a graduation gift for later that afternoon. She looked through the inventory and all she could find were pediatric stethoscopes. She was telling the store owner that she had been to every store within a 200 mile radius and still could not find the one she wanted. I happened to glance at the shelf and noticed an adult Littman stethoscope box under a pile of pediatric ones. I held it up and asked the lady if it was the one she needed. She thanked me several times and was so relieved to have found what she needed. I went in to try on scrubs and then took my purchases to the counter to pay for them. The owner told me that the lady was so happy that I had found the right stethoscope that she had left money to pay for a scrub shirt of my choice. I thought that was so nice of that lady. I wanted to thank her but she had already left. It's nice to be reminded that there are still good people out there who appreciate the things you do for them.

Awesome! :redbeathe And you know how the person will feel when you do the same :)

Not only that, but the feeling you get for paying it forward is even more priceless!
