Transcript Evaluation
I know for sure that stats has to be less than five years (from enrollment counselor). I have read posts from others on here that biochem has to be a straight-up, full, biochem course. Not just a class that has biochem included. Good luck :)

Applied today, we'll see what happens
I applied in late April and am starting June 1st if that helps! Good luck!

Is WGU just another money muncher?
I spoke with an enrollment counselor this evening and she told me statistics is the only course with an "expiration date" and it is 5 years.

Quit my first Job during orientation
I'm sorry you are going through this! Just know that your 1st year out of school will be very stress-inducing. It was for most of us. You are not alone. You did the right thing by recognizing that you were overwhelmed and you took a step back. I don't know what advice to give you as far as your particular facility, but I just wanted you to know that what you are feeling is completely normal. It WILL get better :)

Regarding writing nursing Essays!
I found some videos on youtube that were extremely helpful. I learned how to correctly format my papers manually then I bought Perrla and it was great! It saves a lot of time.

Is WGU just another money muncher?
I hope not. I just applied and had my transcipts sent yesterday. If you don't mind me asking...how long did it take for them to evaluate your transcipts? I've read a few messages on here that it takes them a long time to do this.

Indiana Wesleyan University Online
It will cost me $15,000 to $16,000. Books are included in that figure. I am already a RN. I'm doing their ASN to BSN program. I have to take the 40 required nursing credits and 3 electives for a total of 49 credit hours. I chose their online option which is $316/ credit hour. The last 2 classes have clinicals associated with them. I know they are revamping their program for students who start in July and after. I don't know what that change will entail though. I don't mind doing the clinical part though, it can only enhance my learning. I will only have to do less than 100 clinical hours between the 2 classes so it's not bad at all. It was the right option for me. I have not a bad word to say about my experience with them at all.

My heart is grateful today...
I was in a small, family-owned scrub store one day looking for new scrubs. Another customer walked in and I overheard her say that she desperately needed a Littman stethoscope for a graduation gift for later that afternoon. She looked through the inventory and all she could find were pediatric stethoscopes. She was telling the store owner that she had been to every store within a 200 mile radius and still could not find the one she wanted. I happened to glance at the shelf and noticed an adult Littman stethoscope box under a pile of pediatric ones. I held it up and asked the lady if it was the one she needed. She thanked me several times and was so relieved to have found what she needed. I went in to try on scrubs and then took my purchases to the counter to pay for them. The owner told me that the lady was so happy that I had found the right stethoscope that she had left money to pay for a scrub shirt of my choice. I thought that was so nice of that lady. I wanted to thank her but she had already left. It's nice to be reminded that there are still good people out there who appreciate the things you do for them.

I'm ALWAYS tired *sigh*
I used to work 12 hour night shifts a few years ago. I too was tired all the time. I could NEVER get enough sleep. I napped all the time. Nothing I tried to decrease my exhaustion worked. My kids started telling people that "Mom sleeps all the time". I felt incredibly guilty about it, but I just couldn't stay awake. I even feel into a depression that I had to take medication for. Finally an opportunity to go to day shift arose and I jumped on it. I knew that I felt really "bad" on nights, but I didn't realize how bad until I went to day shift. I felt like a new person. I was amazed at how much better I felt. Soon I was off the medication and haven't needed it since. That was several years ago. Hang in there and just try to get on a day shift as soon as you can.

Does LPN experience count?
Hello everyone in Allnurses land. I've been visiting this site for awhile now but this is my first post. Anyway, I (hopefully) will be starting a LPN-RN program in the spring. My question is, will my experience as a LPN count to an employer or will I still be considered a new grad as far as compensation goes? And...Will I have any edge over a new grad RN for getting a job in this market? Thanks!
