Fingerprint failure
42+ years is enough....

Fingerprint failure
Wow...didn't know that would happen.

Fingerprint failure
The electronic ones were not successful either. That is my point, had them done manually and then electronically. Not good...

Fingerprint failure
I've had that happen in the OR...

Fingerprint failure
I didn't think you could fail "fingerprints", but I did. This was for the State of NC and even though I've had a NC license for years, to work for the state you need to repeat these. Well, I had the manual ones done and sent them in and the FBI rejected them. Next had the "live" scan at the local Sheriffs and failed those twice.. this is getting rediculous. I've been an RN for 42+ yrs, worked many of those in the OR but I didn't think we lose our prints ... have any of you experienced this and was it resolved in some way? Thanks

Changing to a non-nursing career?
I felt like that 42 yrs ago and should have changed way back then. Being honest with yourself and make the move to something you would prefer doing, Be true to yourself and feel passionate about what you want to do and head that direction.

Transition from bedside to call center/triage?
Good luck with the job but one thought. I've been there and can only suggest that you keep your foot into the door or "into" bedside...On down the road when this gets very old and you want to go back to patient care you will be asked how long has it been since you had hands on....

Rehab Nursing advice please...not a real nurse?
I want to know what these people think "real nursing" is... this is crazy. Nursing encompases many different arenas.... just because you're not in an ER or ICU does not mean you're not a nurse. They are showing their ignorance.

Just Curious... Retirement

It seems like everyone but nurses make more money
This is nursing. To make more money leave the nursing field. I wished I had years ago. Poor pay, treatment and the public is miserable to work with.

Changing to a non-nursing career?
I wonder how you have done with the coding. Did they give you the chance to get a job as a coder?

Changing to a non-nursing career?
Cockadoodie, I am sorry CB didn't work out.. I've found it hard to get a position outside of nursing. It's almost like they don't believe you want a non nursing position and/or that you will leave it...frustrating.

Changing to a non-nursing career?
"Coder" ... maybe licensed and professional?

Changing to a non-nursing career?
Well, I wish you luck... have you checked with any of the hospitals regarding starting with them? With your medical background you shouldn't have any problem..
