Those that know my posts know of Kathren, the American Indian sweety that I once took so much time and effort in to reach! She became my best supporter, and I love her so much! Even when I left that job, I made sure her simple needs...like scented bath products and things she liked were available! She wasn't a patient more than a mentor for life..and once I left my facility...well...they made sure there was no contact except mail (I was not allowed on the property...that is the rule..you leave..you can't step foot!).

Today my friends..she died. And my heart is filled, not of anger or sadness really..a little bit of "dam* it why!?" but more of a nice feeling of being able to speak to her if I wish to...I can't explain..and is very new to me. But comforting..yes..that is the word...sad but comforted!

I will never forget her..she is one of the largest reason I have humor in my posts, the way I am down to earth...the reason I wish to help..that is her mixed with my traits..and a woman that let me be just that where no one would.....

Love in the fact you are who you are, and except those that are a bit odd...like yourself...LOL! IT does pay off...and I give my hand and heart to this one who did just that for me!

Kathren...I am still myself, I still fight, I still love, and I still am human. You taught me that! And I will always be that..it is unwavering! Love you, and watch over me in heaven when you have time, kick my orifice if I am getting routine, and hug me when I am doing well. My best towards you always and has always been...AMEN!

I'm so sorry about your loss Triage. I do indeed know how you feel right now, having just had a similiar loss of not only a pt, but a friend this past Sunday morning. I'm comforted that she's in a much better place now, and in the fact that my Mom, who passed a year and a half ago, will guide her on this new journey. God bless you!
