People do things like this all the time......Shooting drugs between the toes.....Inhaling drugs now......Up the rectum.......nasal sprays...nebulizing drugs.........

Im waiting for the drug addicts to start IV's on each other to preserve their veins...Maybe a PICC line.....People will go to no ends to feed their addiction...Especially those in high places, they will go to no ends to hide it.

Yeah, it is sad and nothing to laugh at. (Bur Marie, don't OR people have warped sense of humors sometimes, which is probably what we're seeing here, rather than true lack of compassion. You hear some of the humor in the ER and ICU.)

But is there presidence for a murder charge? Does the person who shoots up an addict friend get charged with murder if he overdoses, if that person allows and desires the person to shoot him up?

What if a person was suicidal and desired a friend to shoot him? It would still be murder, or that's how i think the courts would see it, because it's a person inflicting harm upon another person.

THis is called "getting sh*t orificed" ...Enema play is a VERY common fetish and they use numerous recipes for "pleasure" or "punishment" I know this because when we first got on-line I was not employed and I spent countless hours on the web "researching"...I never dreamed about most of the crap that is accessible-and free.....It's truly shocking-yahoo and their clubs and aol and their chats were the worst....Any wierd thing you can come up with is out their...Medical fetish stuff is really strange....

The thing is intent. As in - did she intend to kill him. Suicidal assist - yes V's Rectal alcohol - prob no. I would say no, but you never know how courts will go in a case like this.

I have been following this in the paper and he had a life insurance policy payable to her in the event of his death for $300,000. She is being charged with murder.

How sad. He probably had esophageal cancer or varicies and that is why he couldn't swallow anymore. I have a nursing book from 1898 that discusses how to rehydrate your patients with beef broth--it even gives the recipe for the nurse to cook it. (no microwaves or beef bullion cubes back then) then it would be given rectally in hopes to keep patient alive and deliver nutrition. No TPN then.

The article mentions that she destroyed his will--what's up with that??? I can't imagine if he was cognizant that she did this without his consent. Maybe he wanted to commit suicide and his will would be null and void if he did it by his hand. I have seen a loved one going through DT"s and you wanted to do whatever you could to help that person. (of course the last thing I would have done is give him ETOH--which is what one rehab facility told me to do with my bro while I was looking for a facility to take him)

Having lived the horror of addiction and suicide with my brothers (both of them)--I know look at ETOH and drug abuse in a different light. But I also understand the humor that we surround ourselves with so we can deal with our jobs.

I had a patient call the other day. He had been getting high for 3-4 days on his friend's drugs and decided after the the fourth day, he wanted to find out what he had been ingesting. He was demanding that his insurance company pay to have his drugs analyzed.:uhoh21:

I had to explain that his was not a benefit of his health insurance, especially since he was volutarily ingesting the substance.

I told him that he could go to the ER for a drug and tox screening, if he was that concerned about what he was using.

Yeah, like Dr. Kavorkian (sp) assisting suicide.

I just wonder was what this persons intent. Was it to get drunk? Did he say "honey I want to get drunk so give me an enema". I think if they were partying it's one thing. If she intended to kill him it's another.

Kind of like when kids in college drink real fast and die from alcohol poisoning. Or when they drink with the funnel and hose, is the person pooring the booze down the funnel gulty of murder if the kid dies? Or the one selling the beer? or the ones around the drinking kid.

Hmmm, she supposedly gave him 3 liters of sherry and his alcohol level was ONLY 0.47? And 0.47 is 6 times higher than the legal limit in Texas? Someone's math is way off or Texas is odder than I thought...
