How important is pay vs work environment for y'all?

  1. How much is a great work environment worth, or how much money would it take for you to leave a great work environment to work in a known crappy environment. 50% raise...100%? More?

I was thinking about the impact of salary from department to department when I was playing around with the salary calculator here: Nurse Salary Calculator | Clipboard Health

Right now, I don't think there's any amount that would persuade me. My job is somewhat low-paying, but it's "easy", very close to home, and allows me to make my own schedule and spend most of my time with my kids.
If my financial needs were different, I'd probably jump ship in a hurry for even slightly better pay.

So long as I can pay my bills and have a little left over, I'd go for the better work environment. If not, I'd do what I had to do and keep looking for a position that would meet my financial needs and was a tolerable environment.

in my current situation, work enironment wins hand down over more money. If my financial circumstances were to change, then I would consider rappy environment for (much) more money, but it would still be a tough choice

Once you reach a certain income level, higher income doesn't make you any happier according to research from Princeton University:
Here Is The Income Level At Which Money Won't Make You Any Happier In Each State | HuffPost

In my state, I am already above that income level. So I can't imagine myself choosing to leave my current job for a "known crappy environment", regardless of the pay.

One cannot buy sanity, knowledge, health or friends. The place where you can find all that is priceless.

I would go for lower pay and my super awesome co-workers. I took a big pay cut to be where I am now and I have no regrets...........till I pass a cute pair of shoes. Ok, kidding aside, less pay but better work environment wins everytime for me.
