It has been a while since i have really spent time on the bb. i have been vacationing. i have great news!!! I applied for a job at Mercy Fitz (a hospital in the suburbs part of a Mercy Health) first they sent me a letter saying they were reviewing my application and that they would call me if i met there needs. well a couple of days ago they called and asked me to come an open house and bring id, certification, and to be prepared to take a test. I am so excited, i am praying i get a job offer!!!!The position i applied for was CNA but i also listed allf my skills from phlebotomy as well. Can you guys give me any tips to blow these recruiters away, i would reallly like to work in a hospital as you all know. Well I will keep everyone posted. Wish me luck!!

Good luck. Be yourself. Be positive. Don't degrade any past jobs.

Being yourself is always good advice. As a rule, I have always brought a small list of questions for me to ask them. Really, just the questions that were really important for me to know. Just be confident in yourself, try to relax, and God will do the rest. Best of luck to you!
Cheers.

I agree with a list of questions that you have about the facility, but also learn what you can about the place, so you can make some knowledgeable comments. "I'm impressed with the xyz method of doing this, and I understand that your hospital does it this way" sort of thing.
My best advice is take with you the same enthusiasm that you show in your posts!

P.S. What ever happened with that one job with the company you had worked at before? Did you end up telling them? Just curious...anyway ~hope things work out for you!

Good News if Fitz called...that means they are interested in YOU!
Arrive early. Bus stops at front of hospital (check schedules). Parking is $2.00. Tell'em you heard about their "Values in Practice" program to provide exellence in service.

Practice some answers so they sound natural and relaxed:
Why do you want to work here?
Skills you have for this job
Best/Worst thing about yourself
Take a moment to think about a question if unsure what to say.
Dress professional, pantsuit ok--no gum or jeans!
Good Luck--keeping fingers crossed.

well today was the first day of orientation and i came clean! I did it in kind of an indirect way but i did come clean and she said everything was fine. The facility was all that i thought it would be, staff, management, administration, etc were wonderful(but hey i guess thats how they want you to think on the first day). I felt really good about coming clean and also about the facility. Genesis is great company!!!
