Only once. My habit was to put a "W" on the wall calendar on my scheduled nights to work. Once I put the "W" on Wednesday and Thursday rather than Tuesday na Thursday.
I was happily enjoying my family at 6:51 pm when the phone rang. It was a college on day shift calling to find out if I was OK. She said, "I called because you are always early."
I told her I was off and she corrected my. I got my copy of the schedule and panicked. I tol her I was on my way.
i just put on scrub, hair in a bun, and left husband an kids.
I was 20 minutes late and VERY embarrassed. Since I hadn't slept that day it was lucky I was able to stay awake and alert.
I bought a wind up alsrm clock with external bells on it and set it across the room when I first started working. My bedroom had linoleum on the floor and the house wasn't centrally heated. So when my feet touched the cold floor, and by the time I got to the alarm clock to turn it off, I was fully awake. I was late only once in my entire working career. That was prior to buying that alarm clock.

We've all done it. Oversleep for work and then make a mad dash to get ready. There have been studies made about this. One study stated that at least 20% of Americans are habitually late. I guess I might fall into the 19.5% category. LOL! How about you? Are you considering an upgrade to your alarm system??
