Good morning folks,

I have not seen this problem that often but I graduated in December 2013. I gained my eligibility to take the nclex exam in August 2014. I found out that my att eligibility expired last year. Don't laugh but my school never Informed us that we have 365 days to attemp the exam before eligibility expires. I think I have until August of this year to regain eligibility to take the exam again. After August of this must is would be 3 years since I graduated and two since I have had eligibility to take the exam.

Are there any states that do not have a limited on the years you can be eligible take the exam? I know a few years back California and Iowa had no limits.

can anyone help me?

I would suggest looking at sitting the exam, the longer it has been since you graduated the harder it will be

Yea if only it was as simply as sitting. My school will not sign me off until I take a refresher course. They are holding me hostage.

If your school won't sign you off you won't be getting an ATT in any state, regardless of their individual limits. There's a reason your school wants you to take a refresher since you haven't been using your nursing knowledge at a professional level in almost 3 years.

Well is been about two years. After I graduated we had to take additional testing and that too me 8 months to finish. But I follow you. I waited 1 minutes th after my original art expired and I only found out because went I went to scedule an exam all my money had been taken. So I found out the hard way that after 365 days of not take the exam you loose your eligibility. Not once had my school mention that. But I learned a hard lesson.

Take the refresher coorifice. You'll need it to pass the exam.

Pearson Vue registration is only valid a year. ATT in my state is 90 days. Most are 180

It is your state's BON that makes these rules, NOT your school. Check with them (BON) to find out your options.

i think the question you need to be asking is not which states allow you to take the exam years after you finish school but instead where should you take a refresher course! if you aren't going to pass without the course it looks like the only thing you can do right now is get with your school and get into that class asap.

Taking a test you are probably going to fail makes no sense, take the refresher course and pass!
